...to jail. I don't know for how long, but on the charges of domestic violence. So...what am I supposed to do. My dad always works, so he won't be back until 9pm. It's hilarious, I know, but what exactly should I do for...you know...tasks around the house. She usually does all the cooking, shopping, and cleaning.

Sorry for thinking you were lying..

Huh...do you have any siblings? You can all team up and help each other..
You'll just have to adapt. You'll get used to it soon enough. I do most of my cooking and cleaning and clothes washing etc anyway.

It's just a overnight thing. Unless she has a warrant out for her arrest it's just a overnight thing. You may have to pay a fee, but nothing more.
She'll have a court date to appearance at, so don't worry.
And just cook simple things. x3

I have my twin sister, but she works too. Not as much, but works none the less.
I thought it would be longer than that. My dad doesn't know either and went to bed, so I can ask him in th morining.

You actually have a twin sister? Wow.

Other then that, just make simple things like Ramen Soup, or Sandwiches. I have 7 year old brother to feed when my parents leave, and well, I know mainly a lot of things you could cook that doesn't really invlolve the Stove. (:
I never washed clothes in my life. ._.

I'm sorry to hear that. =/

If it's for a short while, microwaveable dinners/tv dinners will work best if you're not the best cook.
For grocery shopping, make a list of what you need. Don't grocery shop when you're hungry, or you'll go overboard.
For cleaning, Swiffer is your friend.

    No.
I don't think there's gonna be a bail bond on her. There may be, but no longer than that. :3

I'm so sorry to hear about this. Hopefully she won't stay in jail for too long. Maybe you and yours siblings (if you have any) could help each other out you know by cleaning, shopping, etc.

Just try to make simple things, because if you try to cook something you dont know how to do, it makes people angry and you might burn yourself XD, and we dont want that

Ouch. Hope she gets out soon. I would say that yeah, you might want to take this time to take care of yourself if she's going to be gone 1 to 3 days. I'm not sure how bad the domestic abuse charge is or what she did so the duration can be a while. Usually it's 1 to 3 days. This is a good time to learn some independence perhaps with your sister such as perhaps getting some money from your dad when he gets home so that you and your sister maybe can go to the store, buy something and give cooking a whirl. You'll have to do that sort of thing often when you get older and move out so maybe you could give it a crack now as preparation. When you get done cooking or if you order food out etc, whatever you do, go ahead and do the dishes after and clean up the area a bit so it looks decent for when your dad gets home.

Think of it as a time where you can learn some stuff. Most cooking stuff comes with directions so you'll be alright. Your dad may not want you out to go buy something but perhaps he'd give you money to order a pizza or something. You don't really have to go nuts on cleaning and stuff unless you want to prepare the place for when your mom does come back, but you do want to do some tidying just to at least keep the place in the state it was before she left. I hope things will work out for you and she'll be back soon. Domestic abuse usually isn't something that keeps someone away for long, but it depends on the severity of what she did. Good luck to you and your family. If you need any help on cooking or something, post here and we'll try to give you a hand.

I'm sorry to hear that. Typically she will be in for a short time, then get out and await a trial. She may or may not be given extra time after the hearing. I know because something similar happened to me rather recently.

This is indeed a great time for you to learn cleaning and cooking. I'm not too great with cooking, however...but don't kill yourself going overboard and enlist the aid of your sibling and father. I'm sure they will be willing to help out.

I hope you get through this time and I wish you luck. I know how hard situations like this can be...

This must be hard on you.

Well. Here's what you probably want to do before your mom gets back.

-Clean a bit. Your mom will most likely be tired and angry and won't feel happy to see the house a mess so you might want to tidy up.

-Cooking might be the easiest of your tasks. Make a noodle dish. Most simple one I know is to boil penne/macaroni noodles until they're tender add a teaspoon (you don't have to measure it) off olive oil while they're boiling to keep them from sticking together. Then buy frozen grilled chicken strips (optional) and warm them up in the microwave until warm. Once the noodles are done, strain them and then put them in a large container. Add in whatever sauce you like (spaghetti, marinara, pesto *pesto is really good though*) and then add the chicken. And you're done!

-You especially don't want your mind to loiter on the fact that your mom is in jail because you're most likely worrying about nothing. So play video games or call a friend to pass the time.

Hopefully your mom will get out soon. Depending on the jail she might be a little scared so be extra nice to her.
