Mix and Match Worlds

I don't know about you, but I've often wondered why KH has stayed so strictly within the confines of the Disney movies they recreate.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like if the worlds actually interacted with one another? I think that would be really interesting.
HOW this would be interesting is a bit beyond me, I'm not terribly familiar with Disney movies, but I feel like it could open up a lot of cool possibilities.

 

Though the thought is interesting, it would be a bit hard to move a character out of his world, especially since they're not supposed to know about other world either. Though if by some circumstance it is needed, it would be nice to mix Space Paranoids and Tron's world.

 

Maybe, but since they lost the rights to Tarzan or whatever it might be hard to explain why a half-naked man would hypothetically be hanging out with Alice and then just take off.

 

nah, I like that they pretty much keep to themselves.
If they crossed over then Disney characters would have to get more screen-time, they would have to put additional story into crossing the characters over, and the characters that do cross over would have to be written as more than a simple background character. In other words, the Disney worlds that cross over would become more that just background worlds and characters, and would become more important than they need to be.

I also doubt it could be done without being too gimmicky.

 

It sounds more like something that would happen at the final boss. i mean the hearts of the worlds make up Kh. i know it didnt happen last time, but hey, who knows?

 

Technically, since Mulan is in China, and Ariel's probably from the ocean, and then Tarzan from somewhere in Africa. Given that, technically you'd just be able to walk/travel from one place to another, directly.

This really bothers me. I mean it /really/ bothers me.

 

I think that the worlds mixing would fall under the rule of "no meddling" and wouldn't really abide by the world order. But then again, Sora & co. have done nothing but meddle...

It's an interesting idea but we do get this some, don't we?--Mickey, Donald, and Goofy have all traveled to different worlds and mixed around a bit, and Maleficent & co. have obviously moved around. I think that's as far as they will take it.

 

I always thought of the "no meddling" thing to be more of a "guideline" instead of an actual rule. Nobody reads the guidelines, right? lol

But back to the topic, I wouldn't really be able to say whether or not i'd like the idea of inserting characters into different worlds unless I saw it first hand. I like crossovers, when it comes to Anime and such, but Disney is a bit different. Who knows, it could actually be a really big hit. At any rate, I'm fine with sticking to how things have been. Now if it was worlds like Twilight Town crossing over to Destiny Islands, that would be cool, because they aren't Disney characters.

 

Well it was said at some point that all the worlds were one and then they separated, so it would make some sense.
But it is weird to think about.

 

I could see at some point the idea of 'Cross over worlds' that have collided together thanks to Kingdom Hearts or Xehanort or whatever. As a result we'd have a THe Grid mixed in with Wonderland, so we'd have a cyber Cheshire Cat, or Agrabah's Palace next to Notre Dame, and so on.
It would definitely keep things fresh-er.
