Yes EA has confirmed on the sequel of the first ME. I am very excited to see what new things they have added to ME 2

Here are the problems though. From what I've heard, there will be a new character, Hope. Now Hope is the son of Faith (WHAT???) and he has to rescue his mother from a group called November (remember from last game?) This kind of worries me. I don't want a new character. I want them to keep Faith in. If they do plan to actaully focus on Hope, then I will probably not get the game. Another is the new appearance. I got kind of tired seeing ME's plot
always on rooftops and mostly jumping around. It gets repetitive at times (AC 1 anyone?). Maybe something like ground floor settings? That could work.

    Any reactions peoples?

Well it was confirmed back in 2009, but then rumored canceled again. But I guess a few days ago they confirmed there's still a possibility of a release.

That being said I don't know where you are getting your information, from but it doesn't seem accurate. Anyways I was fine with pretty much everything in the first game except the combat system, I think it needs to be a bit more advanced and more frequent. What I loved most about the first game is that you had infinite lives for the most part and could always go back to the last check point to try again. I do hope the game keeps Faith as the main character, but we'll see how EA decides to go about the game.

I really like ME and I'm lookin forward to the sequel. I just pray that they've taken the clunky combat out and either replaced it with something smoother and easier to use, or just done away with it all together.

RvR: I don't remember the source, but I remember it was from Youtube. I watched it a few weeks ago. Arg I can't seem to remember D:

Others: Yea. The combat was alright, but a bit clunky. More smooth like ACB or something. Also a new setting. All the rooftops make it too repetiive.

Mirror's Edge 2 is in production according to ex-EA developer Ben Cousins. Like the original Mirror's Edge (2008) and the Battlefield series, it is in the works by DICE Stockholm studios. Back in 2009 there were rumors of Mirror's Edge 2's development with statements by then-EA CEO Stephen Totilo and DICE exec Carl Magnus, then back in September with EA Games president Frank Gibeau, but obviously those didn't hold any water at the time until now.

Check out the Eurogamer article and you can also click through the image for Ben's twitter feed. Definitely some interesting news and I would look forward to it if you are a fan of the game. Especially with some new revamped graphics/combat I can see it improving dramatically. Considering it is EA, some sort of multiplayer element will probably be incorporated - just watch it be some sort of roof-jumping capture the flag/package (that's just my guess, though). For its day the game was quite nice especially with the lightning and vibrancy, I also liked how the some of the cutscenes were animated as opposed to straight CGI/FMV. It didn't garner a lot of sales originally, but has developed a fan favorite/cult classic following of fans.
If you've never played Mirror's Edge and have the specs to play it on your computer you can buy it for $9.99 on the Steam Store while it is 50% off (originally $19.99) during the Steam Autumn Sale now through November 26th.
