Minority opinions you have on video games

Figured this might prove a versatile topic.
Name some of your guilty pleasures, what games you think are overrated or underrated, etc.
.The Sly Cooper games are extremely underrated. It was the only series to actually get better as the series progressed, unlike Ratchet & Clank or Jak & Daxter.
.Jak 2 is an extremely overrated game. I played it, hoping it would as good as the reviews stated. Those reviews were dead wrong. The game's story is pretty lame and tries way too hard to be dark and mature. The game itself is'nt much fun either. Jak 3 is a blast, though.
.Rayman may be the greatest of all forgotten video game characters. His design is incredibly unique, and is one of the few characters out there without the 'gun-lover with attitude' personality that's all too common these days. Its too bad he's been eclipsed by those rabbids... :(

Kirby Series...
probably due to the fact he's some unknown pink... thing... people completely turn away from it...
I actually enjoyed squeak squad... so sue me...

over all i think Nintendo itself is being turned away due to it's family approach at gaming...

and, here's one that would probably be sitting in showcase for months at your local Flea Market... Pokemon Puzzle Leauge. some would think it's a crappy attempt at giving a popular franchise a puzzle game (i did for a while) but it absolutely sucks you in...

 

Halo? Anyone? It's not horrible, I just don't see what the big fuss is about. How does Halo 3 get a 10/10? lol.

I don't see how DMC got to be a great series since big swords and big chested women really aren't my thing. The first one was good but the sequels are rather...lame.

 

I agree. I believe it is a great game but still highly overrated.

As for underrated, I would have to say Star Ocean 3.

 

I think Psychonauts is seriously underated
And I think that KH2 is overated how did the game get a 6/6?
And as for your statment on Sly getting better game by game...
I Sly Cooper is way better then Sly 2

 

I used to hate SMB3. Now I love it though.

I love a game called Custom Robo Arena, but many people don't own it and it got very mediocre reviews.

I also like Children of Mana despite it's repetitive gameplay.

I do not like Paper Mario: TTYD. It sucks IMO. Paper Mario 64 was way better.

 

Final Fantasy VII=Most overrated game EVER!

How the hel did DMC get such high scores. It's not THAT fun.

Sonic adventure. I don't see why everybody disliked it so much.

Psychonauts and Spyro are extremely underrated.

 

Honestly, Star Wars Clone Wars was a bit upseting. I thought that since most Star Wars games were good that this would entertain me, but it wasn't as fun as I'd hoped. It had lots of glitches and it took me only 5 days to finish it. Oh well.

 

Super smash bros is pretty damn overrated to.

So is Twlight Princess.

 

. I really like the Nicktoons Unite series. Why? Because they are so poorly produced and made, their fun. :P

. I also really enjoy the Kao Kangaroo series, for the same reasons as above, only I love these games much more.

. Gotta go with the others that say Psychonauts is underrated. That game is demanding a sequel!

.I personally feel the very 1st Ratchet & Clank game was the weakest in the series. Don't get me wrong, I still like the game, but the games got MUCH more exciting as the series rolled by. However, the stories have become less interesting, IMO.

.God of War is really overrated. When I first started playing, it was the same expirience as playing DMC. Not to mention the whole gore and nudity thing gets tiring after awhile.

. I don't go for the Grand Theft Auto series. Sorry, GTA fans.

. Boy, I've named some overrated games(God of War, GTA, Jak 2) but if I had to pick one series that gets WAY too much attention, it has to be Final Fantasy. The games and stories are extremely monotonous, with the very dull "Turn-based combat" being used, with the obvious exception of the latest entry. And FFX has to be one of the dumbest games I've ever played.
Overall, I actually think KH is much better then FF.

I agree with your last statement. Despite that I think Sly 3 is the best entry, the original will always be my personal favorite. :)

How is that? Overated means that everyone's like ZOMG U HAF 2 PLAY DIS GAME! But no one really plays it that much, as far as I know, there are tons who still play Melee even though it's been how many years? Twighlight Princess, meh, maybe, but I definately have to say Melee's not that overrated.
Meh, rambled again, anyways, a game I think is waaaaay underrated is Sonic and the Secret Rings, I know, I know, not the greatest Sonic game, but it still was a decent game that doesn't really deserve the reviews it got. =/

 

Lol, definitely a minority opinion right there. Smash Bros is a one-of-a-kind video game. It deserves whatever praise it gets, if you ask me. And Melee was really the only one of the franchise that got above average appraisals. Smash 64 got a 7.5 from Gamespot and a 7.7 from Nintendo Power, and you're saying it's overrated? XD What do you want to give it, a 5/10 for being virtually the only game of its kind?

Twilight Princess, I'll concede might be overrated *just* a little, but that's mostly because of the game hype and anticipation for next-gen, and because I believe no game deserves a perfect score--which TP got from many different sources.

 

I just can't seem to get away with anything that has to do with Super smash bros. Especially when I say something negative about it.

 

Of course not, and don't try to turn it into a pitty party, I'll chastise anyone who says something like that about Smash.

 

There are a lot of negative things about Smash Bros that deserve criticism; you just so happen to pick ones that are unjustified. I mean really, who bastardizes a game as being overrated when it has reviews ranking it in the mid-70s, honestly? Smash Bros has its fair share of ups and downs from the media.

But your opinion is your own, just don't mind me if I laugh at it.

I beg to differ. Sly 2 had a better visual appeal, larger hubs, versatile mechanics, longest story mode in the series, and lots of the missions and final stages involved a lot of thought by Sucker Punch.
