Baddabing baddaboom I haven't played Dissidia, but I've heard nothing but good things. I wonder what a sequel could be? I don't know why, but the part about Sora made me laugh. Anyways, it looks like Versus is moving along nicely.

I remember Nomura saying that he really wanted Kain Highwind in Dissidia so if there is a sequel I also hope Kain will be in that. Dragoon's are pretty awesome and Kain is very well tied in with Cecil and Golbez so hopefully they'll have third party characters (basically the one's that either accompany the heroes or villains) alongside the main characters. It'd be sweet if they put in Vivi from FFIX without making him suckish like what they did to him in KH.
I could think of a few extra characters that would nice to have. Course they can't have a all the characters from every game. But out of the games FFs I have played... FFX: Auron, Seymour FF7: Baret FF8: Zell I dunno, think it would be cool if they had some good characters like them.
Yes! I always wanted a Dissidia sequel. I personally think Seifer would be a better decision for FF8 FF5 - Gilgamesh(Who doesn't want the ancient man of mystery in Dissidia) FF6 - Can't think of a good secondary character from FF6 It would be great if they added Ramza(best hero ever) into the next game but the chances of that happening are low.
I'm concerned about a sequel to Dissidia disrupting what is taken to be canon in the original's storyline. Spoiler For those of you who don't know, in Inward Chaos, there a handful of dialogue presumably spoken by the Great Will, who has organized the battles in which the Dissidia crew take part as an instrument to create the perfect weapon. Gabranth and Garland lend much to this, each believing steadfastly that the Cosmos and Chaos warriors are trapped in a cycle of battle. It is assumed that your chosen warrior transcends the cycle at the climax of Inward Chaos and frees the warriors. While this is not ostensibly canon, it is a profound statement and I would hate for its message to be skewed by assuming that the cycle was not broken. In order to avoid this, a Dissidia sequel would have to have a wildly different grounds for the warriors meeting. I really feel like Dissidia was trying to close itself off and tie everything up at the end, which in hindsight was probably a poor decision, since they could milk it for a lot more money. Even so, now that they've set things up the way they are, I feel like any attempt at a sequel would fall flat. That said, I would like the chance to play another one, especially if they add more characters. As for predictions, assuming that they add both a new Cosmos warrior and a new Chaos warrior from each game (which would also conflict with canon, if I'm not mistaken, but meh): I - No idea. Probably a Black Mage representation and one of the elemental fiends. II - Again, not sure. I really don't know much about II except that the Emperor is one of the best villains ever. III - Another one I'm not too familiar with. I've heard talk of a Luneth from the DS version, that might be an idea. IV - Kain and... Zemus, I guess? My inner fanboy is crying for Rubicante, though. V - Boko, lol. Naw, I dunno. Of course the Chaos warrior would be Gilgamesh, there'd be massive outcry if he wasn't there. And it's a no-brainer anyway, since he's Exdeath's subordinate. VI - Locke, although I'd really love to see Celes. And...uh... Leo. Gestahl? I dunno, the way they set Kefka up I feel like it would kill the vibe he had going in Dissidia if they introduced more of his villainous cohorts. Leo would pretty much exist to get offed and Gestahl would be more likely to fight with Kefka than the heroes. VII - Tifa and Rufus, derr. VIII - Zell and Seifer. I don't care if Rinoa makes more sense. I really don't. If Dissidia 2 does not have Zell and Seifer, I'm not buying it. I WANT TO SHADOW-BOX WHEN I'M BORED AND CALL EVERYONE A LAMER CHICKEN-WUSS. PLEASE, NOMURA. LET ME HAVE MY TWO FAVORITE FINAL FANTASY CHARACTERS EVER. ;_; IX - Garnet/Vivi and Garland, I guess. Though I'd like to see if they could somehow reduce Necron to a humanoid form. Either that or... O: They could make him the new Big Bad! Cosmos forces versus Necron! Or maybe make him a separate faction for the Cosmos AND Chaos warriors to oppose! F**k year that'd be so sweet! 8> X - Auron and Seymour. Again, derr. XI - No clue. I'd like to see that infamous Pandemonium Warden make an appearance somehow, that would be funny as hell. XII - CAPTAIN BASCH FROM DALMASCA. And I dunno whoever that long-haired pretty boy was XIII - Lightning and Sazh. I haven't played enough to know who the villains are.
If there is a a dissidia sequel the final boss might be Spoiler Shinryu or maybe Cid of Lufaine (the creators of the war in dissidia) Leon would be a good choice for final fantasy 2 because of his ties with the good guys and the bad guys
A battle against a huge dragon would be awesome but I have no clue how they're going to incorporate other characters into the story without changing it. Also hasn't Nomura said that he wanted to put KH characters into the Dissidia sequel if they make one?
Might as well throw my thoughts out there for each installment. And be careful of the spoiler tags if you've not played them/know everything already, they are actual spoilers from the games >> I - Probably another warrior of light, a female one I'd presume if there is one (i've not played FFI). II - Either Leon or one of the other sub characters who where popular/awesome like that white mage guy Spoiler and his freaking green kamehameha wave attack . III - Luneth would make sense, though any one of the 4 from the DS version would be an improvement on Onion Knight, they'd probably just have all four of them instead of one this time if they felt like it. IV - Kain. V - Totally Gilgamesh since after this event many believe it's the same guy travelling the different games. VI - No idea, never played FFVI. Isn't there a moogle that's a party member? If so then that would be hilarious and awesome for them to be in dissidia. VII - Tifa or Barrett from the game, though knowing Nomura's pattern he'd probably have Kadaj from the movie. Kadaj is still pretty awesome but I think fans want characters from the PS game. Or even Zack or Vincent since they are rather popular and had their own games. VIII - Seifer. I've not played this but from what I can gather Seifer is Squall's rival of somesort, he's connected to the main villain and he killed Spoiler Odin. IX - Vivi, I so want Vivi in this game. But this time they must NOT let Melissa Disney do his voice and make him a ****ing pansy like in KH2. Or a kickass combo where Garland merged with Necron with some sort of Necron possessing him or something >> X - Auron. I've not played it but this guy was pretty cool in KH2 and apparently the closest to his FF version than any other character. XI - No idea, probably someone to rival Shanotto (sp?) XII - Baltheir, most people seem to have labelled him as the secret main character. XIII - Lightning and Snow would probably be in this since they seem to take the centre stage the most, though Sazh would be awesome. Though it's kinda hard to say who the villain would be since Spoiler As far as I am now only Rosch seems to still be alive (and reminds me of Sephiroth with a protect the people thing although it's kinda twisted). I mean seriously, big boobed German-like whip lady with possibly the worst movement animation in the game dies without a boss fight.
Onion Knight and Luneth are basically the same thing so you need to have a different character for FFIII which is hard because this game has no one for you to use whatsoever. Also I think the game should have a playable Cid. Preferably FFXII's Cid.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Unless you're talking about Spoiler Shinryu, in which case... It's never explicitly stated that Shinryu is dead. Maybe Cid could revive him for the sequel? You know, try to start over? But that seems contrary to what I've been reading in the reports. Oh Christ. I REALLY hope this doesn't happen. It would totally kill the vibe of the game, unless they gave the cast an extreme make-over. Hey hey, there's an idea. He would work pretty well, and as I recall he became a major plot point somewhere down the line.
I need to start reading some of the reports because I'm kinda unfamiliar with the whole Shinryu and Cid of Lufaine stuff. To the Final Fantasy wiki! I'm pretty sure they can make it work. Riku can be somewhat like Jecht, he use to be on the side of Cosmos until he fell to darkness and shifted to Chao's side, and Sora is trying to bring him back. Yea, and if they do happen to put Balthier(who is the real main character of FFXII) in the game, the best opposing opponent would be his own father that he ran away from. I can see this working out pretty well.
I really don't want Kingdom hearts characters in Dissidia. I prefere the two series stay sparate and just appear as cameos Also from what I understand from the reports (remember these are not 100% correct): Spoiler -Garland was artifically made by the government as a weapon of destruction -While Garland was a child Cid and his wife took Garland in and rasied him as their own -The government took Garland back and used him to destroy all the other summons and omega -Garland become unresponsive and the government clones his foster mother to get him to work -His real foster mother and cid tries to save Garland but the foster mother is killed along the escape -Garland unknowingly summons the void and him and Cid get sucked up - While in the void Cid meets Shinryu and they make a deal where if Cid loses his body they will create a war that summons contestants of harmony and discord to fight against one another. There is also 2 gods. One that comands the forces of harmony and the other comands discord -Shinryu will go to sleep while the war goes on and when he awakes he will revive the fallen warriors making the war endless -Cid watches the war as he does reasearch on harmony and discord -It can be assumed that Cosmos is the clone of cid's wife that the government made and that Chaos is a part of Garland (Chaos stated he had a dream where he lived happily with Cosmos and cids wife was the only one to soothe Garland while he was with the government) -after the events of Dissidia it its assumed Cid and Shinryu brought back everybody for another and final war I just hope in the next dissidia the emperor makes another epic plan
