    Levels sound good. Only thing I would recommend is moving away from the mic a few inches; when you stay too close, your breath is often picked up and creates a strange noise. Most people stay too close naturally.

    Alternatively he could get a wind screen so that breathing wouldn't be picked up but that's only if you'd be more comfortable talking closer into the mic. I actually found a pretty good DIY wind screen tutorial on YouTube. I've got an old Guitar Hero mic I might use this tutorial for (if I ever decide to start recording stuff).

    But yes, your levels should be fine if you just stay back a bit from the mic.
