A high number of injuries, but, as far as I know, no deaths, so that's good.

I thought a thread would have been posted sooner. Saw this about ten minutes after waking up today and didn't think to post about it.

Honestly, this is pretty cool. I mean injuries are a bad thing but it looked awesome. Funny that it happens on the same day we're expecting to watch DA14.

    I wonder if there's a video yet.

    Nevermind here it is.

It's pretty cool looking besides all the injuries.

Yeah, cool to see meteorites up close but at the same time, pretty scary stuff. Trying hard not to make a Transformers joke.

But anyway, I'm sure it's very reminiscent of that other alleged meteor crash that happened in the wilderness of Russia almost some 100 years earlier. It's possibly no coincidence, since Russia's location might have to do with the meteor's course as it comes towards the Earth.

I would've thought space agencies could detect if something entering our atmosphere was dangerous. Like based on the side of the meteorite, perhaps?
Still, yeah I have to agree, it looks pretty spectacular.

This is news to me. And the heavens rained down upon mother Russia. Are any of those meteors contaminated with element 115?

Serious now, that really sucks. I mean, its good that no one died, but imagine if the meteorite didn't explode and actually came crashing down. That would have created a lot of deaths, so 1000 injuries is an okay price to pay for instead of a lot of possible deaths.

Another video, except this one has it breaking the sound barrier (may want to turn your sound down, this scared the crap out of me the first time)

Save for the injuries, that was amazing. That has to be a once in a lifetime view. Getting to see a meteorite crash of that scale from close up. Glad to hear that there were no deaths.
