I know, I'm just exaggerating. I think this is one of the best games I've ever played. I also think the online is good but it could be better.

Right up there with GTAIV, Super Mario Bros. and Galiga.

BTW Clontox, I just realized you were gone for a really long time. 0_o

I've already made a thread like this.I've finished it and i'm almost finished a second time on the boss extreme.I've also got the Metal Gear Saga Database and since i finished MGS4 i get extra secret stuff that you can only get after completion of MGS4.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is a brilliant games for fans of the series. But to newcomers not so much. The cut-scenes are way too long even for a Metal Gear game. But beyond that it's great.

MGO is good if they sort out all the bugs and server issues. Right now all the lag I get is so annoying that I don't want to play it. Also it's region locked, which is lame.

    Brilliant game? Yes
    Best game ever? No
Saying it''s the best game ever is saying that MGS4 is for casual gamers, which it is definitely not.

Not anyone can get into the series. I've met a lot of people that tried, but just didn't like the game.

I was actually disappointed when it got a 10 <_< Some of my RL friends saw the reviews, saw that I'm getting it, and got the game for themselves (despite them not playing the other 3 games)...They didn't even like it, and they blamed me for it.
Only few newcomers would like MGS4.

MGO is actually pretty fun. It's not fast paced like most online games, but that's because you can actually use stealth. Although it's really buggy and laggy.

Whilst I agree it is a fantastic game, it's far from perfect. I was a bit dissapointed to find out that there werent any special features. I was really hoping for a Demo Theatre or a Boss Mode at the very least. Fortunetly, there are a number of extras to collect such as 'the Solar Gun' (when you reload it, Snake shouts 'Sunlight!' XD) and the Altair costume.

MGO is fun but I keep suffering from lag and disconnections. I've pratically just given up on it now and stuck to single-player. Which is a shame really cause it has a lot of potential to become a great online game. I pratically only get like a minute at best of gameplay before being disconnected.

@Fayt-Harkwind - You can get through the game within 5 hours at best (excluding extras such as Stealth Camo or Bandana and cutscenes).

I was quite surprised to see that for a game that had an incredible amount of cutscenes, a Theatre Mode was completely absent. O.o There are a lot of scenes I'd love to watch time and time again without having to play through the game again to see it.

Anyway, I enjoyed it. Kudos to Kojima.

Would one of those scenes happen to be when Raiden does that Breakdance to get rid of the Gekko???

    1) I was busy failing the 9th grade

    2) I think everyone knows about the database

    3) If anyone wants to play online my User name is Death-by-Ownage.

Sure. The Raiden fights were always awesome. But there are a vast variety of scenes that I wouldn't have minded watching again. And the move he did is called a Windmill when he takes out those Gekkos. Also when he faces Vamp, he does a Flare on his Katana--another breakdance move, although it's also in gymnastics.

--- Spoilers: Highlight at your own risk ---
    - Emotionally driven scene with Naomi revealing of her terminal cancer and her subsequent syringing to end her life with Otacon bearing witness (even if a part of me found his wailing slightly amusing)
    - The FROGS first appearance back in the Middle East
    - The cheesy, yet enjoyable gunfight between Meryl/Johnny vs the FROGS on Outer Haven
    - ANY of Snake's CQC sequences.
    - The build-up scene before the motorcycle chase in Eastern Europe. Very awesome.

    --- End Spoilers---

All in all, there's a crap load of AMV material in that game.

I don't have many problems with MGO, but I haven't played much because there's hardly anyone playing. That, or people ended up leaving (mostly d/c from what I can tell). I'd start off with a 8 person Free-For-All, to a 3 on 3 Team Deathmatch, to a 2 on 1 (two vs me) Rescue Mission--which I hilariously won.

You know how you can get the bandanna by going through the game without killing anyone? does that count for gekkos? Because there's that part where you're on Drebin's truck and you have to destroy the gekkos.

Killing Gekkos doesn't count toward your kill count. I thought maybe they did, but during that chapter with Drebin, you *cannot* move forward unless you kill the Gekko. The game *forces* you to take these out. So don't worry about killing them, just watch out for any ridiculous soldier who is stupid enough to walk into the crossfire of your machine gun.

I remember cursing cause I was taking out a Gekko in front of the tank, and an idiot soldier climbed up the front and went right into the machine gun.

I finished my no-kill/no-alert run two nights ago so the frustration is still fresh in my mind. >=|

What about bosses? Dose Tranquilizing them count as a kill, or do I just have to wait till the timer goes down?

The best strategy for that is shoot from the legs up.
