That was a bad video. Next time I suggest you try something a bit more informational a little less scare tactic.

sure it's possible. Whether it be by earthquake or impact by a meteor or a bomb detonated under water. All it takes is a significant enough shift to disperse enough water volume to create any size tsunami.

Do I ever want to see something of this magnitude strike anywhere, no. Will it happen on day, it's possible.

As an amendment to my earlier response. No, the world will not end. Without the Americas times could be tough but the rest of the world would make it through. Also, I seriously want a specific topic here. Not just "Mega-Tsunami!" maybe something detailing how this could actually happen, "is it in the foreseeable future?" and a short blurb on whether can we do anything about it.

It could happen. If it does, it'll probably cause massive damage. But I really don't think its going to cause the world to end. For one, it said it would hit the North American coast. Last time I checked, North America isn't the world.

It's as possible as any other natural disaster. As soon as Mother Nature gets sick of our BS nature then we get to ride the wave! XP

Well, the world cannot possibly end...

It has survived through many types of species and time phases such as the dianosaur realm and the ice age.

Surely it can survive a tsunami...

xD Sorry to lecture you like this, but the world will not end, many crazy people throughout the years had said it would end... E.g Satan's birthday... And well... Its just a farce to scare the hell out of people.

Ok, I'm not going to say the tsunami isnt real..

xD Sorry, guess I should stop about here, before I launch into some long dialogue...xD

Actualy, I think if a meteor hit the earth hard enough and got to the core, and the core collapsed, then the planet would physicaly fall apart.

Actualy, If said meteor is going realy fast or really big and it hits a marine trench (kiling Lugia in the process XD), the inertia could pile drive it into the core.

    Hmmm,you have a point.

I might have to think about that.

Anyone else have an opinion about this?

I watched this. It said that It will wipe out the East coast destroying the cities near the coast of the east. I was afraid and thought if this was happening, why can't teh people of the east evacuate now? If they didn't it would be too late if it hit them once they hear about it from the Atlantic Ocean.

That would suck for them. You're right about the evacuation idea.If they don't,they will most likely die.

I liked this comment, kids got a point, it does sometimes seem as though natural disasters are the Earth's way of dealing with the pressure and strain caused by humans.

Will this happen? I don't see why not, it isn't exactly impossible.

Will it cause the world to end? Unlikely xD for sure it would cause MASSIVE changes to the world as we know it, but I doubt it would end it.

Though I have to admit, I quite like Ampex' theory.

I don't see the point in panicking though, afterall, there are that many disasters that could potentially happen that if you worried about every single one you would have a nervous breakdown. What will be will be, being scared of a Mega Tsunami wont stop it happening xD Though I do think governments should be better prepared in the event of a disaster :\

I hate to be sarcastic like this, but..

What is going to get us first? The mega-tsunami, the mega-comet, or the mega-hurricane?

Scientists can speculate all they want. As long as we are prepared, we should, at least, survive.

Yeah, your right, but we never know when it will happen. We can't be prepared if we don't know when it's going to happen.
