It is a good way to relieve stress and is genuinely entertaining. You would understand if you dropped your pretenses and gave it a chance. A bad colour for even the most ridiculous of ponies. Dark green is not in the pony colour palette. Leave the dark green to the trees, please.
I have actually seen a couple of episodes, I just don't like it. I can see the entertainment value for some, but I don't understand how it can spark such a fuzz online, and even create a sub-culture of boys watching ponies/unicorns... And yeah, the color thing was a joke, I'd recommend going with a brighter color.
There is a large girl fanbase as well, but you underestimate the power of changing social conventions. This is a way for people to challenge gender definitions and enjoy doing it. Is that so hard to understand?
The girls are not bronies, as bronies are the bros. And though I see what you're trying to say, I wouldn't say they necessarily challenge the gender definitions. I don't see this as a challenge to gender definitions, only some guys enjoying something out of the norm. Just because it happens to be a TV show aimed at little girls, doesn't make it gender challenging. They still want to be considered to be masculine/men, hence brony.
Have you heard a brony say this? The brony name parodies the term bro. If they are trying to include ponies in the definition of masculine, then aren't they still trying to challenge the definition of masculine? I do not get it.
To answer the questions, I was going for a Pony that wasn't too unoriginal, hence the reason I used a darker color
Brony has nothing to do with gender. It came from boards over at 4Chan. Brony is a gender neutral term, this coming from a female brony. Some people do use the term "pegasister" but brony is the accepted phrase for both genders. Also, this is my pony, Wedding Belle: Spoiler
That's really nice. Sucks that I'm terrible at art, I would really like to draw a pony version of myself.
