Believe it or not, that's what a guy would probably look like if he'd gone through the shit Max has. I'm sick of all the JRPG pretty boys in games coming out these days. Give me Clint Eastwood-esque badasses any day.
Snake also became a cigar-smoking elderly man who wore an outfit that looked like a glorified version of spandex and a figure that looked similar to that of an action man in his fifties, though I didn't see anyone complaining about that. Or did they complain? Aaanywho. I loved the original two max payne games, so I'll be checking up on this. A Current-Generation Max Payne would look badass.
Snake always smoked. He also wore combat suits in each game. Then didn't drastically change him like they've done with Max Payne.
The only "drastic" aspect I can see here, is that he's aged, which shouldn't exactly be a huge problem, so long as the content of the game itself is as good as it's predecessors. Besides, if developers sticked to the same premise every time a sequel for a series was developed, fans would then go and complain for being too samey.
oh lol, if only that were true. Rarely do developers break out of the box and do something different. I'll give it to you on your point about him being aged, and admit I'm just being nostalgic. I hate it when developers change the look of my favorite characters.
I can predict lots of flaming from the fans. Luckily they seem to keep atleast one thing Finnish as Poets of The Fall is rumored to be playing the theme again.
