i am pretty sure it's 21x something but i dont know if i'm supposed to add the exponents or keep them a 2.

You've got it right, but when you multiply with exponents, you add the exponents.

    Here's an example:

    21^3 = 21 x 21 x 21

    23^2 = 23 x 23

    23^2 x 21^3 = 483^5

    Hope this helps.

Multiply coefficients I think? Or add them. Add exponents for sure. 21x to the fourth should be correct. If not, it's a lot bigger due to 12 x 9. But it probably isn't that. lol

    12x^2 + 9x^2 = (12 + 9)x^2 = 21x^2
