Fandub March 1st: 358/2 Days [Fan Dub Announcement]

As promised, this is an update for the fan dub production of Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days. This update is very important. For those of you that don't have a clue about this production and are interested in reading more about it, make sure you read the 1st update and then the 2nd update before reading the continuation of this update.

I assume many of you are up to date and have been waiting for this update for at least a week or two now. First off before I continue, I recommend that everyone who wants to audition joins the Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days fan dub group on KHV. This is a great way to tell everyone about who you want to audition as. You will also find out more information in the group before it's even updated on the main page. Deadline:
This is very important. I haven't mentioned it in the previous updates, so it's about time that I give a deadline. Auditions for Xion end March 20th. All other auditions (Ex: Namine, King Mickey, the Organization and etc) end April 1st. No this is not an April fool's joke. This is very important guys, so please make sure you keep tight with the deadlines. The subject date can also change at any point due to lack of videos or an increase from Japan's release date.

Accomplishment:
It is very important to finish this fan dub as Japan releases the game. We need to work on this fan dub before it releases in North America. Fans usually don't enjoy watching fan dubs when it's already out in English. It's up to us to show the community what we can do based on the translations we got and the impersonation of the character's voice that we are dubbing. It is so important that in your auditions, you have the emotion and best mic quality as possible. I recommend that you do auditions without music, friends/family in the background. A mic can pick up anything at any time.

Teasers:
I will be making a couple of teasers before I actually release the fan dub. The first teaser will be Xion mumbling certain words, but still not enough for you to fully hear her voice. It will be very short and end with "Coming Spring 2009". Now each teaser will have two characters in it. They will appear to be talking and then it cuts off to a black screen. I think I will voice in the first teaser (Roxas) with whoever I've chosen for Xion. Then we'll push it to Xion/Riku and then Xion/Axel. This process will be broken down into many teasers. This gives you guys a great chance to do more dubbing.

Flexible:
Those of you that audition, I need you to be flexible if you are picked as a voice over. Once everything is figured out, I'll be contacting you through emails or pm's on KHV. It's very important that you stick with me as we record the fan dub. As as I said before, I'm very strict on this fan dub. I'm so exciting and the auditions that I've received have been amazing. You guys are in for a treat when it's all done and finished.

Understudies:
I think I will pick an extra for each character. Its very possible that you guys may get caught in something and won't be able to voice in the fan dub. Just remember, this production isn't just one video. There's a couple that will make it on KHV. You guys that get picked as understudies, will have to also stay active. If the understudies don't get picked in the fan dubs, your names will still be noticed for your hard work.

Sharing Information:
If you are picked as the character and or understudies, it's very important that you DON'T share any information. I will be sending the scripts and that cannot be seen until the fan dubs are up and running.

Recording Information:
Format: Wav, WMA, or MP3 can be used. If it's a problem, just contact me. I'll work with you.
What's a good mic? Logitech
How much are they? 20-40 dollars.

How do I record? Use sound recorder in Windows.

Namine: "You...you were never supposed to exist, Roxas."
Namine: "I'm sorry. I guess some things...really are better left unsaid."
Diz: "His progress is astounding."
Diz: "Revenge. Now for the finishing touches."

The Organization:
Below is audition lines for the Organization. Please note that these could not be big parts, because Square may not release many scenes. It's a matter of finding the scenes. It's still very important to audition for these parts, just know it won't be a huge part as of now.

Xemnas: "Ansem the Wise...You look pathetic."
Xemnas: "YOU are the source of all heartless."
Larxene: "Just as we intended.
Larxene: "You had your fun on the first floor. So this time, it's my turn."
Vexen: "You're one to talk."
Vexen: "As if you have a heart to speak of yourself."
Marluxia: "That's enough."
Marluxia: "Vexen, the simple fact is that your project was a failure."
Lexaeus: "What's happening to Sora?"
Lexaeus: "And then there is Axel. Who knows what that one is thinking?"
Zexion: "Namine's powers are being used to shuffle his memories as we speak."
Zexion: "Marluxia may well succeed in getting his puppet."
Xaldin: "She's scheming to take everything you have."
Xaldin: "This castle, your precious rose. And then-your life. Trust no one. Feel your anger!"
Luxord: "I surrender the chest with my humblest apologies."
Luxord: "Just a few souvenirs...for the memories."
Xigbar: "Have you been a good boy?"
Xigbar: "Oh, it sounds like you haven't. Sora! Roxas!
Saix: "Sora, you've done well."
Saix: "Who knows? I expect she's catching up with her friend from the darkness."
Saix: "She doesn't need you anymore."

Im gonna try at least Riku next week. This is really great idea and though massive I know with Mike as leader it is managed :P

 

Hooray!! I'm so happy that I auditioned!! I think I'm gonna also try out for Larxene... it'll be fun to try and be evil as opposed to super sweet lol (Xion/Namine)

When you say auditions for Org XIII, is it only for the lines you listed above? So like only Xemnas Larxene Vexen and Marluxia?

No-one's been chosen at all yet for this. If you're talking about what was said on the group, I got the role of Axel for TUMMER'S project, not this one. All positions are still open for auditions.

Im still learning Riku´s voice. You know, it isnt all about tone, but the way you pronounce words and stuff. I wanna do it right.

Just wondering... Are you going to do auditions for Kairi? Because she just might make an appearance in the game... And if Kairi ends up not being in the game, maybe whoever got her part could be an understudy for Xion or Naminé. You know, I just thought I'd throw that suggestion out there. :)
