There are pros and cons to this, of course, but as someone who respects the industry and is open-minded enough to consider profits estimated vs profits earned, these people are just trying to avoid going down the way Geneon did (R.I.P). Publishing manga is a business, after all, so you can't expect to get anything free forever.

While I can see where they're coming from by shutting down site like Onemanga because in the end, manga publishing is a business. I just don't like the fact that Onemanga is taking down all of its manga regardless of licensing status. While Onemanga hosted a lot of licensed mangas like Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece, they also hosted a good deal of unlicensed mangas that probably never make it to the US due to them not being popular enough. But in the end, Onemanga just hosted the mangas for the convenience of having one place for all of the scanlated manga to be found and organized instead of them being scattered around the internet. That doesn't mean that scanlations will stop so we'll still be seeing a weekly issue of Naruto, Bleach, etc. People just need to find them which isn't really that hard.

It's because Noone buys the manga any more most people read it online, they're trying to save the industry
