Man Sentenced to 30 Days for Catching Rain Water on Own Property Enters Jail

I thought this might interest you guys, mostly because of how ridiculous it is.

Who the hell gets arrested for catching rain water? I mean, seriously. Arrest the people committing more severe crimes, like shootings, murders, rape, etc.

Want to collect water for yourself? Nope... Collecting water is a thing you need to be licensed for.​

 

You know if this happened in poorer countries like Africa, everybody would die...And does this mean it's a crime to forget to take inside anything that could catch rain water...I mean seriously "I left my cup outside in the middle of a storm and I'm getting arrested for it" it's just pure shenanigans! Something should be done about this!

 

There's not much to say here except, "What?" Sorry couldn't help myself. Seriously though, this is stupidity at its finest. You know many years ago, well not that many, it was completely legal to collect water. It was one of the few ways to get it. A man tries to collect water to save money and the wasted water and he goes to jail? Sounds like the government just likes to push the little guys around when they mess with any of there income. What if everyone in America started collecting rainwater? Would they put them all in jail? No, they'd throw out that stupid law.

But hey, what can you do right? It's not like we have any kind of way to connect millions of people together and start a water collecting revolution right? Oh well.

 

this is absolutely ridiculous. since when is rain water state property? i mean, the guy wasn't taking anything away because it was landing on his property. if he were to actually go into the state's water reserves and diverge it to his property, that would be a different story. bu rain water? this is just silly.
