Macbooks

It will be a long while until I have enough money for one, but I'm going to begin saving money for a new computer. I want to go with a Mac, and I'm fairly sure I want a laptop. The thing is that I'm torn between a Macbook and a Macbook Pro. The Macbook is about $1000, and the cheapest Macbook Pro is $1200. There's not such a big difference in them price-wise, but I thought I'd ask for some advice on choosing between the two.

I mostly use a computer for internet and music, however I read one review of the Macbook that it was difficult for them to run Photoshop and Illustrator, two programs I use frequently. I may also add some sort of web design program to my list of frequently used, adding more to my dilemma.

Of course I'd like to go with the Macbook which is cheaper, but I don't want to spend all that money without knowing that the computer is going to be perfect for me. I wanted to know if anyone had any advice or experiences that might help. :]

 

If the price is not much of a big deal here [obviously], then I'd pretty much boil it down to a Pro for you. There's not much of a difference between a Mac or a Pro, but I'd suggest the Pro if you are really sure about the Graphics programs being frequently used. The Pro is very efficient with dealing with graphics and it runs very smoothly and has amazing pixels to help make your projects look sexy. The power duration is also lengthy and the screen is slightly larger than the Macs, and it's also bright--it stays that way till its actually dying. If you have a lot of programs running at once, Pros also act pretty darn fast. So, if I were you...I'd really get the MacPro.

 

well why not get the macbook and do photoshop on whatever computer you're using now?

 

I heard that a Mac is the best for Computer Graphics.
In fact, I plan on doing some major studying in the field =o

My current computer is very slow and old. I want to get a new one to replace it.

Yeah, that's part of the reason that I wanted a Mac.

the macbook is technically 3years old, and the pro has more features, a better screen, better performance, and it's aluminum. I would take the pro.
