I found a site yesterday and yeah, well, I need to know, what the heck does this all mean?

"The most profound mystery is the Gift of the Goddess and in pursuit of this gift we set on a journey and take flight. Hopeless as it may seem we stand and carry onward with the ripples of water that surface on our hearts."

"Will you be taking flight? Towards the planet that hates us."

"Waiting for it to be received. A harsh tomorrow and rolling winds defy us."

"For you it becomes quite usual to lose your dreams and pride. The Goddess herself has already let go of the arrow from her bow."

"When will the beasts of this world bring their fight to an end? From the dark sky, the Goddess comes whirling down. The door to the light opens to happiness, together with the gift of the Goddess."

"Revenge is scared into my soul. Agonizing for its arrival our wishes become our relief. Sleep where you are equable."

"Wishing for tomorrow... my soul shatters. My pride is broke. My wing is broken. I am no longer able to fly..."

"You were loved by the Goddess and shared none of her blessings. Even as heroes the world hates."

"Your wish where life is fostered. The Gift of the Goddess is handed down. Your sacrifice and the world's end. Like the blowing winds over an unknown water surface---softly and certainly."

"Your wish is where life is fostered."

"Your sacrifice and the world’s end."

"Like the blowing winds over an unknown water surface-- softly and certainly."

"In the tomorrow without promises, I swear I’ll definitely return to the place where you’re standing. A drop of the planet’s hope from ending land, the far side of the sky and the distant water surface become a secret offering." ~LOVELESS

Like Shakespear, there are many interpritations of it, so there is no definate answer. You have played CC right? If you have, Genesis even says there are many ways of saying it. I'm obsessed with Genesis, so I always thought the way he told it was kinda crazy. He went...mad with power in a sense. Anyway, there are no definate answers to it.

Like Sho said the answer is whatever you percieve it too be.

Also in Crisis Core it's titled 'LOVELESS' all capital letters like SOLDIER

Fayt and I know all the quotes too. Red Leather Fanclub!

Seriously though, I think that Genesis died because he perceived the play wrong. It was, to him, a hidden message, which it was, but it lead to his demise.

Well it is rather hard to understand the motives of Genesis even if you have played the game so in my opinion Genesis was rejected after finding the goddess because of his condition.

And I'm gonna guess if I asked what kind of condition, you'd probably not give me an answer, am I right? ~Fayt-Harkwind

    Loveless

Here is all of LOVELESS:Prologue (Poem)
When the war of the beasts brings about the world’s end
The goddess descends from the sky
Wings of light and dark spread afar
She guides us to bliss, her gift everlasting

    Prologue (Interpreted)
When the war of the beasts brings about the world’s end
The goddess descends from the sky

Wings of light and dark spread afar
She guides us to bliss, her gift everlasting

    Act I (Poem)
Infinite in mystery is the gift of the goddess
We seek it thus, and take to the sky
Ripples form on the water’s surface
The wandering soul knows no rest.

    Act I (Interpreted)
    The infinite mystery
The gift of the goddess is what the three men seek
But their fates are scattered by war

One is taken captured, one flies away
And the last becomes a hero

But the three are still bound by a solemn oath
To seek the answer together, once again

    Act II (Poem)
There is no hate, only joy
For you are beloved by the goddess
Hero of the dawn, Healer of worlds

Dreams of the morrow hath the shattered soul
    Pride is lost
Wings stripped away, the end is nigh

    Act II (Interpreted)
Though the prisoner escapes, he is gravely wounded
    His life is saved, however
By a woman of the opposing nation

He begins a life of seclusion with her
Which seems to hold the promise of eternal bliss

But as happiness grows, so does guilt
Of not fulfilling the oath to his friends

    Act III (Poem)
My friend, do you fly away now?
To a world that abhors you and I?
All that awaits you is a somber morrow
No matter where the winds may blow

    My friend, your desire
Is the bringer of life, the gift of the goddess

Even if the morrow is barren of promises
    Nothing shall forestall my return

    Act III (Interpreted)
As the war sends the world hurtling towards destruction
The prisoner departs with his newfound love
And embarks on a new journey

He is guided by hope that the gift will bring bliss
And the oath that he swore to his friends

Though no oath is shared between the lovers
In their hearts they know they will meet again

    Act IV (Poem)
My friend, the fates are cruel
There are no dreams, no honor remains
The arrow has left the bow of the goddess

    My soul, corrupted by vengeance
Hath endured torment, to find the end of the journey
    In my own salvation
    And your eternal slumber

    Legend shall speak
    Of sacrifice at world’s end
The wind sails over the water’s surface
    Quietly, but surely

    Act V (Poem)
Even if the morrow is barren of promises
    Nothing shall forestall my return
To become the dew that quenches the land
To spare the sands, the seas, the skies
I offer thee this silent sacrifice

Genesis isn't dead. B| He comes out in Dirge of Cerberus.

Basically...I think that Genesis could've been related to the one who wrote LOVELESS or something...in one of the last scenes, a paper left on a chair had Genesis' name on it I think...then a feather passed by it and it turned to LOVELESS.

The best and most realistic interpretation of LOVELESS is Crisis Core the game itself. Zack became a hero. Sephiroth "flies" away. Genesis gets captured in his state of weakness.

The last line, "I offer thee this silent sacrifice" could be refering to Zack's sacrifice for Cloud. I dunno. <-<

Ah well. Genesis basically went a little crazy trying to find the Gift of the Goddess believing it would cure him...and Zack is left without an explanation of what it is. Well...Genesis did get cured at the end. And...I dunno what he planned to do at the end of Dirge of Cerberus(Secret ending). >-> He sounds like Dracula though. xD
