I'll admit, I've only played the game about two weeks, a year back. You still had to pay for it back then, and I couldn't bring up the money. Nonetheless, I absolutely adored it and I still am eager to play it again. It's FTP and there has been a buttload of updates going on. Once my new computer decides it likes my internet I will be all set to dwell in the worlds of Middle-Earth, Eriador. So, any people here who play it, or are thinking about playing it? Tell me your opinion on this game and discuss.
Oh yes, of course, forgot about that. Well, for starters, the graphics are amazing and very detailed. The scenery is beautiful and you'll find yourself lost in this world in a matter of minutes. The main story is different from each character you choose, and it keeps a challenge in the game. The storyline presented as 'books', which consist of a series of quests called 'chapters'. With every content update the books expand. There is an housing option (when you have enough money of course). After awhile you'll be able to buy your own house and decorate is as you wish. There is a profession option. What I love is that you can't choose a single profession, but you choose a vocation which is composed of three professions. You can compare it to crafting. It's like you're living in this world when you log on. The game uses a different form of PvP. It's called Monster Play, where you can choose to be a Hero or a Monster. In this mode you fight against the other side to take control over the various keeps in the so called Ettenmoors, each side has their own titles, quests and deeds. It's pretty fun actually. There's something called deeds, which Wiki can explain better than I do: 'Deeds are earned in each area of the game, by killing a set number of monsters in an area, using a certain ability a set number of times, completing a number of quests in a given area, or finding certain locations or unique items. Completion of these deeds yields a fixed amount of Turbine points to the player, and usually awards traits or titles.' So when questing becomes boring you can always switch over to deeds for a while, earning titles and respect in the world. Also, the things you do will influence the NPC's and overall towns around you. Changing the world every time. I also love that you have lots of original classes to choose from. Overall it's an amazing game with lots of things to do and it's set in a beautiful world with tough quests and original ideas.
I'm not sure how to find them exactly, since my new computer still doesn't allow my internet to connect. You have to be in the same server, and you have to have them on your friends list, and they have to have you on their friends list in order to send a /tell to them in-game. A /tell means to send a message to someone. How to get them on your friends list is something I still have to figure out.
