Look at me and tell me who you see A girl who quietly stands apart from the crowd Someone who tries to hide in the shadows For I see a angel with tattered wings Fallen from the beautiful angelic sky A broken angel with scars of the past With nothing to keep away the darkness Nothing but her own strenght To fight off the monsters born of darkness Mirrored in the eyes of a maiden Before me fate holds the weapon I wield Far from me, I fly into sky so beautiful, yet so dangerous Then He told me, "Leave behind all the tear you shed. Far from where all innocence lies." Following the blade set before me I counter the fears of my darkness Yet I weave a costume that disfigures me All the red of innocence gone by my hand Won't wash away for I am no longer a beautiful Rose of May But please let me wear the mask of repentance once more So that I can see the Roses of May once again A poem I wrote for a contest at school. It's supposed to say that I'm no longer innocent as a child, referring to the team 'Rose of May'. But I hope to see that innocent again someday.
