Never seen it, although you people keep saying it's good so maybe I'll get to it at some point.

It's a great movie, but ultimately unsatisfying. Like a CGI fantasy princess version of From Up on Poppy Hill.

Funny how they removed Hans' appearance from the DVD artbox compared to the movie poster lol

Yeah; I personally like the original poster more than the movie cover, and would like to see some kind of "Award Winning" thing on the box as well. Eh, but what can you do.

And it's a bit lacking in special features. I mean, it's thankfully not EPK junk, but it's missing some essentials. Like, it would be nice to have a director's commentary, a feature that goes deep into the music (both musical moments and score in general), and I'm slightly disappointed that they didn't add a special "Sing-Along" subtitle track to go along with it (y'know, the one that Disney marketed like crazy for so people can go see it again). Hell, it doesn't have anything going on during the pause screen, which seemed to be standard for a lot of Disney blu-rays now.

But these are really nitpicks though. These would have been nice, and maybe will come in with some special "Ultra Diamond" edition belief when it's re-released three years from now. I'm at least glad they took a look into Walt's original look into the Ice Queen story. That was a very nice touch.

Really, my only complaint is that the Demi Lavato music video is on the disc. I mean, I'm going to go nowhere near it so my blu-ray player/television isn't tainted by it, but it bugs me that it's just there.

Hahaha; no. There's a reason why I wanted a blu-ray player for my room on Christmas. Mainly this, and Les Mis.

In all likeliness, I'm never going to use the DVD disc, but I always like to have some kind of back up if I don't have a player for a while. And it's also there for loaning, probably from family with small children who still see animated movies as babysitters.

Make no mistake, I'm actually applauding with quite the sincere level of enthusiasm.

Dissociative identity disorder is helpful like that.

Haven't seen it, but am skeptical about it with the main reason being that they reused the Tangled character designs which seems awfully lazy to me. c'mon disney

Also, I hear they destroyed the original story with this movie. But eh, haven't feasted my eyes upon the film, but everyone seems to praise it. I'll give it a shot.

From what I've heard, it really does take its liberties with The Snow Queen story. The main difference is that Elsa is originally a villain in the original story, but she isn't in the movie. It doesn't really bother me that the story's different though, although granted, I haven't read the original story. The directors did talk about keeping the same theme of the original story, which is "Love conquers negativity" and that the negativity for this generation is fear.

I don't really complain if a film is different from the source material though. The second Death Note movie completely changed the ending. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is different from the original novel. Still, I really enjoy these movies, and the original sources, but I can separate the two and know that they are different.

And really, Disney does have a reputation of taking classic stories and completely changing it around, sometimes to where it's almost unrecognizable. Look at The Little Mermaid, Hercules, Aladdin, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. These in no way resemble the original source material, but we recognize these as great movies. What really mattered was how the story was being told, and that it was a good story.
