Drawn from the Republic Commando: True Colors cover. Okay...this took one hell of a long time. X_x;; 1. I scewed up part of the helmet. T_T 2. I couldn't figure out how his legs dissapated into the grass. So I just kinda blended it like that. xD 3. I actually don't mind how the shading came out. 4. That is my first time drawing a clone. Or a gun. 5. I was too lazy to add a background. May do that later. Anyway. Please CnC. :3
The helmet looks awkward where the chin part is. The backpack(?) on his back should be brought closer to his body so it doesn't seem like its hanging off. Try adding more grass where his legs are in it so it doesn't look as blurry. Great job otherwise, it looks pretty good overall.
I'm a bit sleepy, but I'll give you the cnc: If you can, get more than just one type of pencil when you are going to shade a drawing like here. HB (the type you write with) is very limited to make a dark tone with, it is best for light parts. If you went to an art school you would need at least 3 more: 2B (my favourite), 4B and 6B - all becoming softer and darker the higher number. Use more than just one pencil, and you can add more depth on a drawing. Especially the neck part and elbows could use a darker pencil's tone, right now it's too flat. While you're at it, by making bigger shine and reflection difference on the metal it will look more like it is made of metal. The grass looks too long/gathered to be fully enjoyable. You should make some (random) straws sharper in the front ground, that way the weaker ones will create perspective. ("harder to see, the further away" effect)
Awkward how? That's probably one of the most accurate parts of the helmet. I drew the kit (backpack) at 10:30 last night. So that's probably why it's a little off. xDD But thanks. ^^ Hehee...I left my other pencils at school. That was all graphite lead. X_x I was wondering about the grass. Thanks. ^^
It seems to jut out... It looks awkard to me but I believe you if you say it's accurate, since I have no idea what the real thing looks like.
Sharp as always. I quote this for emphasis on the shading problem. I'll also add, try and accentuate the shape and the dents of the texture. I'm mostly refering to the face.
http://www.timelineuniverse.net/images/TrueColors.jpg That's the cover image. I really did try to make it accurate...^^' Um...Dunno. xDD I just started sketching, and that's the end result. >_> Thank you. ^^ As soon as the school's literary magazine gives my sketchbook back to me, I'll scan and post the others. They're still life, though. No. ;_; It'd be nice if you could give me a tut though. :3 I maaaay do a second version, and try to improve. Now that I look at the helmet, it's really starting to bother me. xD And thanks. ^^ Thank you. =D I have a book with Boba on the cover. I think you've just given me inspiration for another sketch. 8D
Coco said most of the things i was going to say but I love the shading and you know how I feel when I don't see..."zhe shadeh" :3
