No Thanks Locking your own threads.

So that creators of a thread can lock that thread if they feel it's getting out of hand, or if it's just dead.
A way this could help is if a flamewar erupts and gets out of control in a thread when there aren't any staff online, the creator can just lock it instantly.
Of course, you could always unlock it if it was accidental or some other reason. :)

There will have to be limits in place though to stop lock spamming.

 

I like this idea,but only because there are so many flame wars in the spamzone and stuff.

I think we should be able to delete our threads that are over a month old too.

This does sounds like a good idea.
I mean after awhile threads end up dead, and It could be easy on staff with this hole flam war thing.

But when you think about it, staff only locks threads if necessary. If the flam wars get to our of hand.

 

I say yes. Mainly because of the flaming in threads. I'm for the idea.

 

No. That's staff's job. And it will remain staff's job.

 

A while back, someone suggested that prems have this power, and it was rejected 1. Because it's not possible to set it just to your own threads, we'd have to be S. Mods. 2. Even if it were possible, it would be abused CONSTANTLY.

Leave staff things to the staff. That's why they're there.​

I like the idea, but as said before, it would be abused too often and the staff would not allow the idea, but a good thought though considering all the flam war thing, I just dont think it will be allowed

 

Whether or not it's a good idea (which I think it is), it is probably impossible because I'm pretty sure it's all or none with VBulliten.

 

It IS possible to do, but it won't be happening because to be honest we don't trust all members with it, say for example staff locked one of your threads, you would have the power to then unlock it.

If all members could lock their own threads it would actually end up causing more mess for staff because we would have to check every single lock to find out what happened.

Added to this what one member classes as worthy of a thread lock, other people wouldn't neccessarily agree.
