    E.s. HELP NEEDED!!!

I seriously need help. I have 68 Attack, 135 Defense (the last time I fought him I had 125) and 69 Magic. I'm using Ultima Weapon and have every ability apart from Auto-Summon and -Drives equipped. I am at level 99.

I've managed to take down 2 of his HP bars, but just one of my ground combos does about .75 of a whole bar. I can barely ever get a hit off on him, and his attacks all bring me down to 1 HP.

The thing about ES is that you have to be VERY careful and play defensive. Dodge every attack that he throws at you and retaliate quickley. The growth abilities (high jump, quick run, ariel dodge and glide) help a lot, and I mean a lot. Equip every ability that can increase your number of combos (combo plus, air combo plus and finisher plus) and beserk charge is also useful (note that I'm not sure with this :( ) so that you can land hits oin him without letting his hit you back. And also remember to equip anything that can increase your MP quickly (MP haste, hastara, hastaga and rage) as you will be spamming reflectga and using cure often. Limits are your key if your suffering from an attack you can't avoid or find difficult to avoid. Duck flare may be the best for this use as it lasts quite long. Other than that, play defense and be VERY careful.

P.S Equip second chance and once more as they will help you stay alive long enough for you to cast cure. Leaf bracer is also needed.

I think it is easier to block his attacks with guard. It sometimes also protects Goofy & Donald if they are next to you. It just takes a bit of time to get use to the speed of his attacks.

One thing to do is if he gets you in a combo let him finish it fully, don't use aerial recovery or cure until he is done. That was one of the mistakes i had when i fisrt fought him. But you probably knew that.

Yeah one of Donald's limit's can help & then spam the square button while he is in the air, the most i have gotten outta him with that combo is about 13 bars, but he is unpredicable & can break out with his whip move.

What's funny is that Defense seems to hardly do anything in the battle.

For me, there are three openings I tend to go for:

The zoom-slashes that the ES does back and forth, he USUALLY will stop to land after three of them. So basically after guarding the third slash, immediately start dodge-rolling in his direction. You need to get used to knowing how close you need to be in order for your slide dash to kick in. For me, I usually only had to dodge-roll once to be close enough to catch him in my slide dash. However, dodge-rolling twice might be required--but I can't guarantee that you'll be able to hit him (as the window of opportunity might've been closed by then). Sometimes you'll be unlucky and won't be able to get near him in time, but that's definitely a popular opening during the first half of the battle.

Second opening I use is the Death Sphere. Whenever he starts it up, and I'm within good distance, I'll go close enough to guard it so that it will repel into him. I wait for him to fall on the ground before starting my string of combos. The amount of times this opening occurs really depends on obviously how many times the ES feels like using it, and whether or not you're near him at the time he uses it.

Third opening is the ES' shield combo. You can usually tell that he's going to use it if you see him running toward you. Because in all other instances, he will either fly toward you, take out a weapon, etc. So when you see him running toward you, he has NO other intention other than the shield combo. The shield combo (in case you don't know what I'm talking about) is that move where he'll land 1-2 punches, then a massive third smash with his shield and all these uber cool gear looking things pop out and destroy you (lol). For this move, just guard guard guard. If you guard the last hit of this combo, the ES will change his direction and hit the move off to the side. Voila, there's your opening, string him with combos.

There's a fourth opening when he gets off his Keyblade surfboard/motorcycle/whatever. However, I don't bet everything on this opening because the amount of times the ES zooms by is more unpredictable (and sometimes he doesn't even try to hit you, tryin to psych you out), so it's harder to plan when to start dodge-rolling toward him. So you can try for this as well, but sometimes you'll get unlucky.

Those are all the major openings I use during the first half of the battle.

In the last half (Berserk half), the ES only has one major opening. Glide away from the first two waves (the first slash combo and the gear spiral combo thing). While he's doing the gear spiral one, continue gliding away as he can still move while doing it. Get used to the timing of how long these attacks last. When the gear-spiral attack is nearing its end, land on the ground and target him to face his direction. Then spam guard for his third and final wave and wait until the ES' attack speed increases momentarily (ex. there is a point where you guard ~3 attacks with one guard). This signals that the ES is going to attack ONE more time before breaking away. If you guard the last attack, the ES won't hit you and will zoom by. AS this is happening, be sure to lock onto him and start dodge-rolling his way. Be quick as the window of opportunity is shorter than ever.

Continue this until the end. It's also good to note that if you plan to use a Drive form, like Final, use it AFTER you've started the string of combos on the ES.

I have managed to get him to Beserk every time. I just need to work on surviving his Berserk runs, now.
