Zoids. Those of you who have known me long enough know this is one of my top favorites.

So a while ago I decided to clean up some stuff (around the same time as my last thread in here), and took a ton of pictures of some of my Zoids. They're all fairly old now, but they're holding up. These images were also used for the same project as the last thread, so again I was using pretty much the same filters and stuff.
I also didn't really have a nice background to take these against this time, so yeah.
    CnC?

I had that Shield Liger and Command Wolf for a while. I wanted that 8lade Liger and 8erserk Fury so 8adly. So much nostalgia here.

I've been looking for a hobby shop that sells Zoids for ages. I refuse to use eBay :sideways:

    But I want a Lightning Saix so bad ;___;

Guys, if you comment here, try to add some form of cnc, rather than just "omg nostalgia" or something along those lines. :c

I have all of those, lol. Gonna get around to photographing all of them hopefully, since god knows what my parents will try to do to them once I leave for college. xD
    Zoids. >>
To be honest, if you buy from a good seller on eBay, they won't rip you off. I got a Japan-edition Dibison for $45-$50 including shipping last year, completely unopened and worth the price.
If you can find a Saix, I'd definitely say go for it, it's one of the better models made.

I've heard of zoids before. Never seen them. They're really interesting..
I love the quality of the photo and how you blur out part of the background photo and focus onto the main area..

    I would say you're either a complete photography genius or I suck at it. Probably both. (;

Never seen/heard of Zoids but the figures seem slightly familiar.

Anyway, nice work on the pics. The coloring seems subtle but it makes the difference.

It's a great mecha series from the late 90s, my favorite is Chaotic Century though I have models from both it and New Century Zero.

Just practice maybe? xD;; I think that anyone can become good at anything if they apply themselves, but thank you. :]

Used to be on CartoonNetwork waaaay back in the day. Like at least a decade ago.
    Thanks. :3

Thank you, I was messing with the manual focus on my camera since I'm still getting used to experimenting with that. Seems like it worked. xD

Probably gonna put up more pictures soon, if not tonight then tomorrow.

Holy Lord, Zoids. Eep. I am flailing around memory lane right now. Ahaha. I had the EXACT ones. I swear. Minus the armadillo-looking one in the end. (Yeah, I forgot their names by now) I've given mine away as a kid though, and how I shame myself for that moment. tsk. tsk.

The photography is good! I personally like it, especially the whole (I don't know what to call it so shoot me) sepia-ish tone it's got. It makes it rather classic.
And the focus is amazing, i love how it catches detail c:

Not gonna lie, I'm rewatching Chaotic Century again. xD
That'd be the Gustav (Moonbay's more specifically). c: and that's why I never get rid of anything ever

Thank you, some of them did have a sepia filter in it so you're not far off.
Also whoo I was trying to focus on detail for some of them, glad to hear that worked. :3

I'll post more tomorrow, finally got around to converting the .psd files to .jpg.

I used to love Zoids and I'd completely forgotten about them. I remember having the one in the second picture.

I like these, they are good quality and they show quite a lot of detail even though they're still quite simple. I do like how you have only certain bits in focus, obviously the bits you want us to focus on and so I really like them.

You managed to give them expression somehow through their body language which brings the picture to life and makes it seem like they're doing something. Keep it up.

    Thanks guys c:
I'm planning to take more pictures tomorrow since I've figured out how to link my camera to my temp computer, does anyone have a particular Zoid they want to see? I have quite a bit, so chances are I'll have it. Got lots of Ligers, lol.

Gah, I thought I'd posted this already. Guess not.

The first one is suitable in terms of background, as it isn't recognisable as a house, and the composition isn't bad, but the focus is a bit off. The lines of the mane draw the viewer's eye to the right, to the cockpit, but the focus isn't there. Instead, the focus is on the left leg and the tip of the mane, neither of which really work with the composition of the image.

The second is too frontal in my opinion. Not entirely sure where you're going with it. The shoulders/legs are in the picture enough to draw attention to them, but the focus they're given isn't enough to warrant them being in the photo. That said, the background, a dark brown/red, works very well with its colour scheme.

The focus on the third is okay, but that's all. The composition is a mess. The Command Wolf (?) is positioned to be turned enough to trigger that OCD, but not enough to actually be interesting. The Shield Liger in the background has no idea what it's doing, and the actual background is clearly from around your house. You avoided that in other shots by manipulating the blur and focus effectively, but not here.

The fourth and fifth are excellent. The eye nicely focuses on the mouth and head, which is actively doing something, making them interesting photographs. The focus is right, with the background blurred but the subject left crisp. The fifth could possibly be slightly blurred, but it's fine as-is. The reddish dark colours also work quite well. The fourth's cockpit looks brighter than the fifth, and I prefer it that way. I would consider doing a bit of post-processing to these ones to touch up colours and take 'em further, simply because they're the best of the batch IMO.

The sixth is too red, and too much is going on. I don't know where to look, and the red background distracts me from the red head. There seems to be a lot of stuff included in this shot that has no real purpose.

The final one has focusing issues. It focuses on the shell, but there's a whole lot of other stuff there that's out of focus, but more interesting. There is a ton of wasted space in the composition, and the background isn't blurred, making it look more like an Ebay picture.

Overall, nice photos. I'm quite partial to closeups and blurs.

Whoa, Zoids, talk about being a kid again. My cousin stole all of mine from me, the little butthead. But yeah these are awesome, like the angles you got on them. Nice.

    I miss them, that's all. T_T

Oooooohh Zoids!!! haven't watched that show since 3rd grade!! (long time ago...) Yeah i don't remember the names of the Zoids but i do remember the one in your first picture is the main character's Zoid. He gets upgrades or something and changes armor color. My favorite was the orange version, it made the Zoid super fast. Yeah i don't remember much, but those pictures were nostalgic. Thanks DPWolf!!!
