Since there's no thread for Kingdom Hearts (the franchise in general), I posted this here.

    Ex: BbS>CoM>358/2>KH2>KH1>>>Re:Coded

    In my opinion:

    BBS>KH2>KH1>Re:CoM>>>>>>Re: Coded

BBS had amazing gameplay and storyline. The depth of the personality of each character is amazing.

KH2 likewise. Not so much the character development, but the gameplay.

    KH1 storyline = :=D:

With Re: CoM, I liked that players were given a chance to play the GBA game on the PS2.

    And Re: Coded...... Ew.

I don't see the magic of the characters in BBS. They're all pretty one-dimensional, particularly Terra. His plot is an overused Square device and it worked less well in the style of Kingdom Hearts. Also, the worlds in BBS are the worst of the bunch in level design. And replaying the same game three times isn't that fun.

I just realized how weird it is to have a kingdom hearts forum without a general kingdom hearts thread.

Heres my top 5 favorite KH Games:
    1. Kingdom Hearts 2
    2. Kingdom Hearts 3D Dream Drop Distance
    3. Kingdom Hearts
    4. Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days
    5. Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep

I know Kingdom Hearts 3D isn't out yet, but I put it there in 2nd because I've seen enough scenes of the game that made me happy with the KH series and I like the gameplay and graphics of the game.

BBS: Something that wasn't all about Sora.
    Days: Multiplayer was amazing.
What I've played of DDD so far: Some more story progress. Also, game looks beautiful.
KH2: Combat was a lot more fluid, after about level 15 in comparison to KH1.
KH1: Started a story which has spanned 4 consoles and japanese phones.
CoM/RR: Controls were a bit hard to get the hang of, but then gameplay was a breeze.
Re:Coded: Just no. Please. No more.

Hmm, I haven't really thought about their ranking. Let's see . . . From best to worst:
    1. Kingdom Hearts II
    2. Birth By Sleep
    3. Kingdom Hearts
    4. Re:Chain of Memories
    5. 358/2 Days
    6. Re:Coded
I suppose if I look at it, Birth By Sleep and Kingdom Hearts could change places quite often. Perhaps I ranked those two on gameplay, but by the time Birth By Sleep rolled around, Square Enix already knew that they had a lot to fix with the gameplay, which was done nicely in Kingdom Hearts II, and then it evolved from there.

As for 358/2 Days, it wasn't that I didn't like the game, I did, because playing as Roxas was pretty cool, but I really don't like Xion's character, really, she's there for no reason. If she were to disappear from the plot completely, there wouldn't be any holes in the story. As for her being one of the characters that Sora has to save, I don't see the point. She doesn't need to be saved because by the end of the game, she was where she belonged: inside Roxas so that he could become one with Sora again.

Seriously loved the combat in Birth By Sleep, as well as the story around Terra, Aqua, Ventus, Master Eraqus, Xehanort, and Vanitas, and explanations for the later games. But it only marginally beats Kingdom Hearts II for me, which was an awesome journey, but I disliked a lot of the the mini-games. Kingdom Hearts, the first game, had Billy Zane as "Ansem"...I miss that...

I was debating how to sort 358/2 Days and RE:Chain of Memories, easily my least favorite Kingdom Hearts games that I've played (but I'm not saying they're bad), it ultimately boiled down to the fact that, I had to force myself to play 358/2 Days at times because of how boring the game was. RE:Chain of Memories had an odd combat system to get used to, but it had some really cool boss fights against the Organization and Repliku, while 358/2 Days had....Heartless....and Heartless...oh and finally Saix and Xion...after a bunch of Heartless...and honestly the story didn't pick up at all in that game until near the ending, where as RE:Chain of Memories had, to me, good story throughout.

Birth By Sleep had the story, the gameplay and the combat, but it was just a bit too repetitive for my tastes. Having to start at zero again on each new story was a bit of a hassle. Other than that, it's basically tied for first with KH2. The original was great with some good worlds that I'd love to see again, but the fact that it was so hard for me to beat as a kid puts it at third.

BbS excluded, the handheld titles disappointed quite a bit, though Days at least had some appealing qualities as opposed to Coded's "lol, let's make you replay the same worlds three or four ****ing times over and then give you a snack-size portion of them again". I've tried replaying the latter, but it gets to be too tiresome for me (and the only real motivator I had the first time around was to beat the game at least once; since I've done that, there's not much other incentive, as the bonus bosses are difficult as f*ck).

Birth by Sleep is by far my favorite of the bunch. Though it's probably because Terra is the most badass character we've seen in the series so far. It had the perfect mix of KH1 and KH2 styled gameplay for me. Given what I've seen of KH3D, that'll probably top Birth by Sleep or come close at least.

Kingdom Hearts has a way more thought out level design than KH2. KH1 actually provides somewhat of a challenge and with the close-up camera, gives everything that happens a much more personal feeling when you play the game. Also, KH1 isn't a button masher like KH2 and well...it feels more complete than it in every way. The only redeeming factors gameplay-wise for KH2 is that FM+ fixed a lot of its issues and the playing as Roxas with two keyblades was a lot of fun.

Kingdom Hearts 2, though painfully easy in even the hardest difficulty, is just a lot of fun to play. I don't like the fact that special effects when you hit things clutter the screen but I do like the faster paced combat. I'm just glad its shortcomings have been fixed in recent games. Though KH3D might suffer from the same "cluttering" problem I already stated. I dunno, I don't have the game yet. >>

Chain of Memories brought in a lot of good music. Though I'm still not sure how I feel about its gameplay. It's not bad, but the series has definitely had better mechanics elsewhere. Re: Chain of Memories was a very good remake though it was pretty silly to hear Sora suddenly having an older voice when he shouldn't have it chronologically(since it was recorded after KH2).

Re: Coded...well it was pretty fun. Don't have much of an opinion on it but it did have a better leveling/equipment/accessory system than 358/2 so that's why it goes here. I can't recall any new music though. Any good music I mean.

358/2 Days wasn't bad but it was lacking in plenty of areas. Its greatest strengths though were its multiplayer and mission modes where you could play as nearly any character from the series so far. Oh and Xion's themes were awesome.

I've not played many of them and am going to be lame and do it story then gameplay-wise.

    Ranked via story
    1. Kingdom Hearts: Just godly. No words.
    2. Chain of Memories/Re:Chain of Memories: Definitely competing for first here (but lost out from the nostalgia/original), but it's just so good. As devoted to Sora/Kairi I am, this game actually had me feeling & believing Sora/Naminé, and oh god, the scene where Lexeaus like... explodes and Riku almost falls into darkness. <3
    3. Kingdom Hearts II: The story wasn't bad, but I thought it was just really all over the place. They tried to shove a bit too much in, I think, and ended up glossing over some elements that could have been really interesting to see develop/unfold.

    Ranked via gameplay
    1. Kingdom Hearts II: It's just a delight to play. It expanded well upon the first game and managed to mitigate the overall clunkiness I felt from the first.
    2. Kingdom Hearts: Still good, but it can get boring fast. I do prefer the magic system in this game to KHII, though; I felt very discouraged from using magic in KHII.
    3. Chain of Memories/Re:Chain of Memories: **** those cards.

I wish I wasn't too poor to play the new games. ;c Especially Birth by Sleep.

    1)Kingdom hearts 2

This one will just forever be my favourite for the fact thatit was my first one and the memories that came with it are so intense and emotional. I got it for my 12th birthday and finished it within 6 days and now every year around my birthday I have to play it for the simple fact that it just feels like that time of year. It was the one that started my long obsession with the game and got me stuck further into Disney which was great and Disney reminds me of childhood thus so does Kingdom hearts <3 The gameplay was great and I loved the characters, it was confusing at first but once I had played the other games then it just made sense and was so enjoyable. I quickly became very attached to all the characters and once I finished it I just had to play it again. It was easy enough to start with in order to get into but once I got older then the harder settings also offered the challenge that I needed.

    2)Birth by Sleep

This has been the only other game that even came close to Kingdom hearts 2 in my opinion (it would take a lot to overcome the feelings I feel for that game xD). I found the gameplay and fighting style very fluid and enjoyable and it was challengign enough although the levelling annoyed me as it took so long D: I liked the idea that you needed to play three different stories in order to understand what was going on and I didn't find them repeatitive and they were all very different and each story was unique and fit together so nicely. The ending was so sad and made me crave to know how they'll be saved if at all. The game also made me think of the possibility that they won't be saved which was also good I think. Brilliant game.

    3)Kingdom Hearts

It took me a while to complete this game as I found it a lot harder. The main problem for me now is just the graphics and the lack of fluid cutscenes but that is only down to age and so it's not the games fault. I enjoyed the story and the boss fights even if they were incredibly challenging. I just don't know it as well as I know KH2.

    4) Days

I actually really enjoyed this game, I liked the storyline and the multiplayer was epic (I just wished I had more friends who played it >.<). I also found the leveling ridiculous as it took forever and was boring to do but actually playing the game was just very enjoyable. I really liked the thought that you could go back and do the missions that you wanted to redo if you so wished. I would rather see it on the PS2 though, the DS gave it no justice.

    5) Re:Coded

I still haven't finished it. I like it but it just feels like it's missing something.

I haven't put in CoM or Re: CoM because I haven't finished CoM because I lost it (;-;) and I have yet to play the other one.
