    The Naruto Series

Welcome to another session of LC's Reviews. Today, I will be reviewing one of the most popular animes across North America. But what will I think of it? You'll just have to see.

Let's cut the crap, Naruto is a terrible anime. Actually, one of the most repulsing animes I have seen by far. And the popularity that surrounded it, was in fact so annoying, I thought my head was literally going to explode. If you like Naruto in front of major anime fans, feel free to feel embarassed, because I'm sure they all hate it. And, you know what agitates me? When people consider themselves "anime fans" when all they watch is crappy dubs on Cartoon Network. Watch freakin' Adult Swim, people-who-I-am-mentioning. Or perhaps ask for some recommendations. Please.

But back onto the topic of Naruto, I personally never liked it. Back when I was ten, and simple enough to love it, that was when I found it awesome. But then, at thirteen years old when the anime was dubbed and distributed out in America, I was ashamed of the series, like I always had been. And the cliche popularity that followed it, is remarked as one of the most annoying things, by far to encounter. Seriously. You go to every convention and you see, like, five Narutos. Five Narutos. Creativity is lacking.

Naruto is an ashamed excuse for an attempt to try and make a good, revolutionary ninja anime. Fortunately, we have Basilisk which pretty much punched us in the face with awesome. If you like Naruto, I respect you for your opinion, but I leave my own and say that Naruto is not the greatest anime, and isn't made of much potential. The storyline is a great concept, but the anime itself is stale. The episode are random, and it drags it on. If I want to watch dragged on anime, I'll watch Dragonball Z. Not only that, but the series takes too damn long for characters to develop, and sometimes, rushed the character development.

Thank God that the studio and Masashi Kishimoto, himself, created the second series. Which, I think, saves Naruto's ass by a margin. Now, Naruto, the first series, blew. But when I saw the first few episodes of Shippuden, I was hanging by my office chair, clenching on the arms of the chair. Suspense knocked you right in the face the first few minutes with the long gone Sasuke being found head on. Not only that, but Naruto isn't so stubborn, and is more kindhearted and brave. More of what I expected in a ninja.

Naruto: Shippuden is an incredible anime, but the original Naruto is dergitations from hangovers after drinking about five cocktails, one happening to be Sex On The Beach, and then coming back home with a drunk girl under your arms. Anywho, final verdict, Naruto is made of fail, but Naruto: Shippuden, is purely what we need in a ninja anime.

    Ratings

Naruto: Pitiful anime, with only some episodes which leave you wanting more, but after that, nothing special. 4/10

Naruto: Shippuden: An amazing anime, and is one of my favorites so far. Thank you Masashi for finally making the series good. 9/10

Well...I believe some parts about your argument are right and others are wrong. I'm having a little bit of trouble explaining this but ill say it like this: Naruto is a roller coaster of an anime. It has its ups and downs from arc-arc and I have to say when its down, ITS REALLY DOWN. ****** comedy, bad fillers and terrible character development really play roles in this.

But when its "up" its amazingly brilliant as well. While hard core naruto fans have to endure the painful fillers, the Haku/Zabuza arc, the 5-man team arc, and the Sasuke vs Naruto arc and more arcs are what suck them in in the first place. I remember watching Demon Fox Naruto vs Curse Marked Sasuke for the first time and thinking: I dont know what this show is but it looks amazing. In short, my point is that Naruto isnt all good, but its not all bad either. The fillers were terrible but most naruto fans dont consider them as actual episodes, because they either stopped watching naruto when they started or picked up the manga.

Speaking of which, I think what you said about the fans of Naruto is slightly untrue...I dont think its shippuden that saves the day, I actually think its the manga. Millions of Naruto anime fans are devoted to naruto and have been devoted to it because of what they've seen in the manga. Man, if you read the last 9 chapters, Naruto is actually experiencing a major high point right now. Not only are we more in tune with Akatsuki and their members, but we see an overwhelming amount of Sasuke too (which I guess, for major Sasuke fans this is like heaven).

In short: I do not think Naruto the first series is as bad as you said because it serves as a major hook for people who arent ready for shippuden and want to find out what naruto is. Secondly, IMO, Shippuden isnt as good as you say it is. While its refreshing to see Naruto older and new events unfold its fight scenes are terrible, it takes too long to go through arcs and it doesnt completely follow the manga, meaning some things are confusing. Its going through a filler right now too, which means its ratings might go down a little...you can't live with fillers and you can't live without em.

    My ratings:
    Naruto: 5
    Shippuden: 7
    Entire Manga: 8

You're fairly sensible when considering most aspects of this however, you overlook the dreadfully garish flaws found in Shippuden. First of all, no action, whatsoever. The fights are without exception incredibly boring, no matter how you look at it five plus episodes of running and dodging about is too long. At least in part one you'd have the occasional movie quality episode with a really good fight in it, no more of that in Shippuden. Story issues can only be blamed on Kishimoto who is bad at this to begin with and only gets worse the more he tries to make the story epic and engaging. So I'd say it's not a terrible series overall but it seriously only goes downhill and it's way overrated.

    quoted for thruth.

i dont really like naruto, but if you have to choose between watching crap and this...anyways.

i think the fillers are dragged out...way dragged out, not only that , but the fights are overly boring...and also dragged out.

in the original AND in shippuden.

of course i was overly dissapointed by this series as its started going....shonen.....

the plot change was rather drastic....and too epic.

the concept is good, but it was presented with overly dragged fights and too slow or too fast character development.

All though im not into Naruto I dont hate it either...

Ive watched parts of it with my brother and quite frankly it reminds me of me when I was his age watching DBZ, if its at all as good as DBZ was then I would have probably watched it along with Yuyu Hackisho(sp?) and Cold Case...

Hakusho, I believe it is. Not too terrible as a series. DBZ is probably one of the worst of the popular animes in existence, but that's just me and everyone I talk to. Cold Case is an American crime scene drama, Case Closed otherwise known as Detective Conan is an anime though. Thought you ought to know.
