When I am writing as in creative writing, I can write upwards of 4000 words in 2 hours. Yet this essay I am working on for a class, which is also 4000 words, has so far taken me two and a half DAYS ._.
I get that sometimes as well. I guess it's something to do with the level of interest at certain times of the day. Like most people can't be bothered with writing an essay in the early morning.
With creative writing, you are the source. If you want everyone to be pro-cloning to explain a plot point for example, they will. But in an essay, you have to go with what society has created. Meaning that you don't set the scene and can't bring up how everyone is pro-cloning to explain something. It's like the difference between guitar hero and playing a real guitar. On the real guitar, you set the pace, on guitar hero you have to follow along to someone else's.
... Know what else is annoying? When you spend two and a half days writing an essay, get close to finishing and realise you don't have enough words left to be able to conclude D: fml
Don't forget the buttons and strings, dear xD but that's besides the point. I totally agree. A good use of metephorical speech to help others understand differences between writing types and whatnot. Although, I assume Kay has that knowlege anyways o_O It all depends on the topic, really. Good luck~ <3
Well writing your own creative **** is fun. Writing an essay that you more than likely don't want to, is not.
On guitar hero you have multiple tiers of difficulty, along with 4-6 difficulty settings, allowing you to go at your own pace. rather than play through on easy, then medium, etc, you could start on hard, on easy songs, or start on medium on difficult songs, etc. Whichever works. However, i do think you're correct. Also, essays are work, and schoolwork is almost never fun, and just the thought that its school work makes it harder.
I feel your pain D: I can write creative stuff no problem, but something about being forced to write something not creative for school makes my subconscious want to rebel or something... it takes me forever to even get started on writing whatever it is D: Ooh, and I hate when you don't have enough words left for a decent conclusion. Then you have to go back and edit out all your hard work T_T Good luck~
