Since it's summer vacation for most of us, I've decided to write a fanfic about the gang's summer vacation. Here we go... Chapter 1-Summer Begins The sun shone brightly upon the clear, white sands of Destiny Islands. It was a little over 75 degrees Fahreinheit, a very typical day for the island summers. There was a gentle breeze, blowing across the islands. The colorful palm trees swayed fervently along with the winds as it swept through the empty outdoor campus of Destiny High. The cool wind soon reached an open window in class 703. Sora felt the nice, gentle breeze softly hit his face as he continued to stare at the clear blue sky… It was Friday, June 13th, the last official day of school. Despite the name, Sora felt it was a good day. He felt that it was the day where a three-month adventure was waiting for him right outside the school campus. *Wow…this was a fast school year. Seemed like it was just yesterday I got back from saving the worlds. And then summer started…and before I know it, 10th grade started. After all the finals, assignments and everything, I’m here again…everything went by so quickly…* He looked down at his note-filled notebook and flipped to the last blank page. As his math class watched a movie to pass the time and to celebrate the last day of school, Sora picked up his mechanical pencil and began listing all possible summer activities. Unfortunately, he didn’t get very far… *What did we do last year?* He wondered as he put his pencil on the paper. ~ Surfing ~ He wrote down on his paper. Feeling nostalgic, Sora leaned back on his chair and began reconstructing his favorite memory… -------- “Whenever you see a small wave approaching, try to crouch on your right foot and stand up slowly.†Sora explained to Kairi who stared on her surfboard with a nervous look on her face. “O-ok, I’ll try.†Kairi replied unconfidently. Sora was a small wave approaching from a distance. It was their perfect opportunity. “There. You can try this upcoming one. Remember, left foot then right.†As the wave came within a couple feet, Kairi followed Sora’s instructions and stood on her board. After 7 seconds, Kairi lost balance and fell into the water, face-first. Sora saw what happened and rushed to her friend. “Kairi, are you ok?†Sora asked as his friend came out of the water, with her back facing him. Sora felt something touch his hand and grabbed the mysterious object. “What’s thi-…oh…†He noticed the strap on Kairi’s back was missing… and it was in his hands… -------- Sora blushed and grin a bit as he slouched in his chair. He resumed with his work and looked down on his paper once again. *How bout...camping* He thought as he jot down his idea. -------- "Hey Sora, where's the bathroom?" Waaka asked in an urgent manner. "Ergh..." Sora responed, half-asleep. "We're in the middle of the jungle. Go use the porta-potty. It's that grey box behind the bushes next to the big table." "What!" Waaka exclaimed. "I gota use that 'seat' with a hole in it?" "Or you can piss in your pjs and sleep with wet clothing for the rest of the camp. Now lemme alone." Sora replied. Waaka sighed as he left the tent and searched for their only toilet facility inside Deep Jungle. As he opened the door with utmost disgust, there were rustling sounds in the bushes. Waaka heard the noise and scanned his surrounding...there was nothing. Suddenly, two shadow figures hopped out of the bush next to him. "HOLY CRAP!" He exclaimed as he ran into the toilet with great force and knocked over the entire toilet. Sora heard the crash and ran to the scene. He saw Riku and Tidus standing in front of the toilet, laughing hysterically. "What happened?" "Waaka got scared and knocked it over." Tidus explained. "I can't believe that acutally worked." The door opened as Waaka came out of the bathroom, filthy and disgusted. "Tidus...Riku..." He said with a angry glare. "Uh oh..." the two said. -------- Sora stared into space for a moment and chuckled for a bit. He remembered the long chase Waaka gave the two boys soon after. ~Traveling abroad...again?~ He wrote on his paper. -------- The train sped into a long, dark tunnel with the whole gang aboard. It didn't take long until the windows present a view of outer space to the passengers riding in the train. Sora stared at the windows on his right, this was the first time he's been outside the islands since he returned home. The rest of his friends did the same thing as they sat in the train before leaving for their destination 2 hours later. "Finally, we've touched land!" Tidus exclaimed. "So when's our next train?" "It should come in about 1 hour." Riku answered. "Sweet, lets get some grub. I'm starving and it's lunchtime." Sora suggested. "Sounds good." Kairi responded. "Ok how's this. We'll get whatever we want and meet back here at 5." Selphie planned out. "Alright." Wakka agreed as he left for the upper levels. Sora and Riku both met up at a McDonalds and ate their lunch there. "Hey Riku." Sora said as he finished a piece of his Big Mac. "This is the first time we've traveled since we came home right?" Riku swallowed before he replied. "Yea, what about it?" "Nothing much." Sora said. "It's just, these lines were set up about 4 monthes since we got back. I never thought things would get this far so fast." "Yea. Now we can go anywhere without having to ride a cramped gummi ship." "Hey!" Sora exclaimed. "I was the one riding that thing for a year. YOU just teleported to places with a blink of an eye. Gimme a break..." "Oh, since you made it sound so convincing, maybe I'll join the darkness again." Riku joked. "Whatever..." Sora replied. As planned, the gang met up again and boarded the Midgar Line. After another lengthy two hours, the gang entered Port Royal, although something wasn't right... "Oh crap..." Riku said as he approached the train line map. "What?" Tidus asked. "This is the wrong line. We went the other way by accident." "What?!" Selphie said, puzzled. "I thought you knew the way?" "S-Sorry." Riku responed nervously. "Looks like Riku screws up too." Sora laughed as everybody turned to him. Riku glared angrily at Sora and approached his friend. "What are you doing?" He asked as Riku pushed him towards the Wonderland line. The train arrived as people began to enter the station. When Riku heard the departing sounds, he pushed his friend into the train. Sora tried desperately to exit before the train left, but the crowd around the doors blocked his exit. Riku grinned slyly and waved as his friend when the train began to leave. "Riku!" Kairi shouted. "Why-" "It's ok." Riku interrupted. "Our next train won't come until 8. Even with delays, Sora will be back by 7:30. That's more than enough time for us to get to the next station for Radiant Garden." -------- *Stupid Riku...can't take a joke* Sora continued to stare at his paper with three options written down. *Ugh...* He thought to himself as he wrote down ~ Shopping ~ -------- "Lets see...jeans or sweater?" Riku mumbled to himself. "Are you going to buy the same shirt and pants again Riku? You have like 20 pairs of those at home..." Sora asked his friend. "I wouldn't be talking Mr. I-only-wear-black-shirts-and-pants-because-I-can-drive-into-different-forms..." Sora looked stupified. "Shut up..." The gang continued shopping in the guys section. Kairi, who finished her shopping, approached the gang along with Selphie. "What do you guys think?" Kairi exclaimed as she directed their attention towards Selphie. "It's a new idea I wanted to try out." Selphie was wearing a light blue tank top with a black skirt. "Wow, that's...original!" Tidus commented while everyone but Sora nodded in agreement. Sora continued to look on until something caught his eye. "Whoa! She's FAT!" He exclaimed. Everyone turned to Sora, surprised with his reaction. Selphie, who snapped at those words, walked towards the keyblader. She gave him an evil grin and kicked him hard on both of his shins. "Ow, that hurts!" Sora exclaimed as Kairi approached him soon after. "So you think my idea looks 'fat' huh?" Kairi asked. Before Sora could reply, Kairi slapped him hard in the face and punched him in the stomach before leading Selphie back to the girls section of the store. "Wow..." Riku commented as the others watch Sora get up from the floor. "Shopping 101: Never make fun of Kairi or Selphie's fashion style." Tidus added as Waaka just laughed. "Geez...I was talking about the woman that walked past..." -------- Sora remained motionless for a while. A small nervous grin appeared on his face as he ran through the flashback. Seconds later, he focused on finding more ideas. He continually tapped his pencil on the paper as the final school bell rang. *It's...time!* He thought to himself. Kids from all classes exited hastely with joy and excitement. Sora packed up his materials and walked to the building's exit. A grinned appeared on his face as he opened the door. *Three months...* He thought to himself. *Let the party begin!* He exited... There you have it. The beginning of their summer vacation.
