Basically, in my mind, this was how Dirge of Cerberus would be if it had KH characters. Not to mention, the idea came from back when I was obossed with the two games. I might make it a rp, depending on how the idea is to everyone. And yes, Namine is a gun-wielding butt-kicker in this story, I'll talk with some of my friends on some of the story idea. Anyway, it's three years after the ending of KHII and Kairi had mysterious vanished. At this point, Riku's wearing his typical yellow and purple clothes, but he'll get some ones next chapter.

    On the story!

    Chapter 1 New Beginning

A portion of a large glowing orb was sticking itself through the smoke and clouds above the world of Destiny Islands, home to the Keyblade wielders. The main island was overflowing with Heartless and Nobodies, attacking innocent townspeople. Rescue workers from many other worlds were evacuating the city and carting off the injured into Gummi ships amidst harsh island winds. Among the other world workers was a young girl with short raven black hair, she wore dark clothes that was getting soaked by the rain that was pouring down. She shouted, “Come on! Hurry up! And try not to drop anybody this time! Report!”

“Evac complete. All injured have been moved to the transports.” A worker from her world reported, she smiled and said, “Okay! Let's get outta here! Just remember to keep on guard until you're clear of the red zone! We're all done here. How about you?” She spoke into a phone as she looked into the direction of her companion, in the distance was a tall, old, and forgotten tower with a cannon covered in rust. In that area was a tall young man with long silver hair. His hair covered his eyes partilly while his clothes was soaked and stuck to his skin because of the rain, the rims of his pants and the bottoms of his shoes were covered in dirt and mud as he approached the base of the tower.

“Finished.” His voice said. “But Yuffie, I want you to check the patrol cannon.” “But we already...” Yuffie started to say as she looked up at the cannon, holding an electronic device which scanned for life signs. “What the...?” Yuffie gasped as the screen of the device flashed and had the words, "Detected Life Signs 01". The man’s voice was heard, “Just as I thought.” “Hold on! Hold on! This is crazy.”

Yuffie shouted, “There's no way anybody could be up there. No.” “Yuffie. Rendezvous with Sora and the others.” He told her. “It looks like I still have some work to do.” The phone made a noise, implying that the man hung up, Yuffie looked at the phone in surprise, “Hey, whoa!” She lowered the phone and looked, up at the cannon, she said to herself, “Riku. Get out of there! I have a bad feeling about this!”

Riku ran up to the top of the cannon, reaching the area where the last worker on the cannon was killed many years ago. Bright white light surrounded Riku as the darkness slowly disappeared in front of him to reveal... a dark skinned man with long silver hair, Xemnas, standing still with his arms out, not moving. Riku stared at him with utter hatred, and willed his signature keyblade, Way to the Dawn.

Just as he was about to attack, a stray lightning bolt struck the floor, distracting him. When he looked back up, Xemnas wasn't there. Unsure whether it was a hallucination or not, Riku was given no time to ponder as a secondary explosion occured nearby when he heard an unexpected voice call his name.

“Riku!” Yuffe shouted, she approached on some sort of hoverbike. Riku jumped on and they flew away to a nearby Gummi ship waiting for them. On the computer screen that Xemnas had previously been near, the words "start" and "fragment program" appeared, flashing on the screen. No one knew this would serve as a prelude to a new danger.

Three years had long passed since the defeat of the Organization leader, Xemnas, as well as the disappearance of Heartless and Nobodies. While most of the worlds celebrate this fleet, only a small group of people weren’t celebrating the good times, amidst the celebration, the last princess of heart, Kairi, had mysteriously disappeared. Many search parties travelled far and wide to find her, but with no results. It wasn’t long after that Sora gave up on finding Kairi, but Riku didn’t give up hope.

By the time he had turned nineteen; his hair had reached his waist, so he kept it in a ponytail. Little did he know that he would set out on his own journey when he turned nineteen. One day, Riku found himself sitting in a cave somewhere on the main land, facing down. He looked up and was surprised to see Kairi, encased in crystals with her eyes closed and hands placed on her chest. Her hair had longer as it went over her shoulders; Riku just stared in surprise as he thought to himself, ‘So... We meet again... Kairi.’

Some strange, subtle fluctuations appeared around her. Riku heard her voice as she responded to his thoughts, though her voice sounded the same as when he last saw her, it sounded very sad as she said, ‘I'm so sorry.’ Riku sighed and closed his eyes, when he opened his eyes; he was in his room of his new house on Destiny Islands, he spoke to himself as he looked out to the island, “Why? I'm the one who should apologize.”

As Riku reminisced about the past, a noise in the background signaled the start of a television news program. On the table was Riku's cell phone with a message to Riku, from Dr. H.J.P., stating "Meet me during the islands’ festival. We need to talk." Though Riku had no idea who Dr. H.J.P., he accepted the message, an anchorman began the news story

“Three weeks ago our crew left for the city of light, Radiant Garden.” The anchorman stated, the anchorwoman said, “However, the group's whereabouts still remain unknown. What really happened down there?” “Tonight, for the first time, we bring you the final transmission received...” The anchorman said, as footage appeared on the television screen; beneath it was the text "A television crew and 38 members of an investigation team are believed missing".

The Anchorman and woman described how, for the past three years, a door had remained sealed underneath the castle but was now being opened; a door leading to an area beneath the castle, another of the city's secrets revealed recently. They noted that there was evidence that "thousands of people had once been transported here",

While the Anchorwoman continued to jabber on, Riku tore his gaze from the island and looked up at the moon. One other person was looking at the moon that night, a young woman standing on the balcony of Kairi’s old bedroom. She had shoulder length blond hair and bright sea blue eyes, her outfit was a simple sleeveless white dress that stopped her knees, from there was a pair of heeled open-toed boots. Her wrists were adorned with silver bracelets with a silver ring on her right pinky; the only thing that stood out of her outfit was the black holster belt around her waist. She gazed at the moon and whispered softly, ‘Where are you……. My other half?’

The people in Destiny Island began to celebrate their world’s festival; fireworks exploded in the sky, and the streets were bustling with human activity and balloons. People were dancing. It was a very happy and festive time... though two people weren’t enjoying the festival, Riku, sitting in his solitary room and the woman standing on the balcony, turning to go inside. Suddenly they jerked their heads to look outside once more - a missile of some sort had been launched at a building, exploding amidst the screams of frightened citizens in the streets. One person exclaimed, "What the heck was that?!" A trio of helicopters flew overhead. With the aid of bungee cord-like devices, several soldiers dropped out, detached, and ran amongst the crowd, opening fire.

Another batch of helicopters arrived, carrying large containers. Some bizarre dog-like mutant creature ran towards someone and bit their chest, dragging him away. Riku was now standing in his window, as a helicopter descended directly in front of him and fired a missile. His room exploded into flames as he jumped in the air and heard someone fire at the helicopter repeatedly, destroying it. As Riku found out the shooter was the woman, one of the soldiers was ordering a little girl clutching a teddy bear to "get in there!", "there" being one of the aforementioned containers. People were being herded into containers as the city burns around them. Seeing what was happening to his home, Riku was pissed off.

“What's going on, Namine?” Riku asked, Namine kept quiet as they looked around, a trio of soldiers approached on the rooftop behind Riku and Namine. From their line of vision was a sort of computer screen with the words "Riku", "Gender: Male", "Blood Type: A" at the top left of the screen. Elsewhere, there was a girl with an elaborate device covering the top half of her head, along her back was long bushy brown hair, she said, “Found you.” She laid one hand on her cheek while the other rested on the collection of wires her hamlet was plugged into. She sent the message to the soldiers, whose screen notified that Riku was wanted Dead or Alive. They sprung to action, but Namine was faster and shot them all down.

Though he was surprised by Namine’s new weapon and action; Riku and Namine began to traverse several rooftops, killing many of those strange soldiers, who Riku could sense had darkness in them, eventually reaching the ground. Riku wondered to himself, “Now where am I supposed to meet Dr. H.J.P.?” In his message, he never gave a place to meet. Either way, Riku and Namine continued through the streets, saving civilians when he could, with them giving him their most precious items and accessories. Namine went ahead , she saw a helicopter carrying away a container filled with people, Riku went about his business.

The duo watched as a mother and daughter ran away from a horde of dog-creatures; they had a similar screen as the guards who saw Riku and Namine earlier. The girl had a green tint with the word "Clean" beside her, but the mother has a dark red tint with the words "Darkness detected" beside her. One dog creature pinned down the mother while another dog dragged the girl away, and took her inside a container. With some major convincing from Namine, Riku found the container and freed the girl; the girl ran away crying "Mommy!", to which the mother replied "Rio!"

Riku and Namine continued through the town, saving civilians and generally killing a lot of the strange soldiers. Eventually they got to the town square.... when a helicopter appeared and faced them. Riku cast Aero on himself and Namine. They floated to the nearest rooftop as Namine pulled out her gun and began to shoot at the helicopter, Riku jumped again and swung his keyblade at the helicopter many times before gravity called him back. As he was descending, Riku thought he saw someone shoot a arrow at the helicopter. Namine ran out of ammo as the helicopter fired off a few missiles before crashing, Riku grabbed Namine and dived into a nearby house via its open doorway to avoid them.

The girl with the strange headgear was also in the house, she smiled as she took off the helmet, she said, “Riku.” Her eyes glowed a bright orange as she spoke, “We've found you.” Her eyes returned to a brown colour, a rather large brute approached her from behind, he asked her in a deep and gruff voice, “Is this the one?” “Yes.”

They didn’t know as did Riku and Namine that they were in the same house, but Riku and Namine made their way through the house. On the 2nd floor, a loud crashing was heard; there was a big hole in the wall, and in walked the large brute from before. He was muscular, had blue hair that covered some of his face, Riku and Namine almost thought he looked Saix, and almost appeared more beastly than human. The girl accompanied him.

“The Proto Keyblade.” She said as she looked at them, her eyes turning orange as she spoke. “Tell us where it is.” Riku and Namine just looked at them when the brute shouted, “Hail His Darkness.” Several soldiers ran in the room also shouted "Hail His Darkness!" Willing the Way to the Dawn into his hand, Riku stood back to back with Namine, getting ready to fight.

One of the soldiers knocked one out and joined them. With the combined powers of the three of them, the soldiers were defeated. Riku looked back at the brute, he smiled, “Challenge accepted.” The girl suddenly fainted; he looks at her as a male voice shouted, "This way!"

“Luck is on your side.” The brute said, he picked up the girl and walked away, the girl said, “I'm sorry.” The brute turned around to look at Riku, he told him, “I am Azul. We will meet again.” The voice from before entered the room, he asked, “What happened here!?” Three men ran into the room, one had shoulder flaming red hair and bright sea blue eyes, he wore a long black robe over a military uniform, his companion had long midnight raven black hair and bright emerald green eyes hidden by round glasses, he wore a similar robe to the red haired man’s, though his had a zipper that was partilly zipped up to his chest, revealing a white shirt underneath the robe, on his arms were some kind of arm bands to keep his sleeves in place, the rest of his outfit consisted of brown cargo pants and black combat boots. The person who helped Riku and Namine took off the hamlet that covered the face to reveal it was a young girl around seventeen with shoulder light blue hair.

“You’re Riku, right? Are you alright?” The black haired man said, Riku looked at him and the red haired man, before turning around, he spoke, “So you’re Dr. H.J.P., nice to meet you. Not a very interesting outfit, though.” The black haired man laughed a bit, looking at himself as he said, “It took me a while to decide which costume I'd put on for today.” “But enough of the small talk. Who were those soldiers that just left?” the red haired man asked, Namine sighed, “We don't know. The large one called himself Azul.”

“Azul the Cerulean?” The red haired man asked, the black haired man looked concerned, “Of the Tsviets!? Then that could only mean...” “Commissioner!” One of the white uniform men shouted, the two men turned around, and several enemy soldiers entered the ground floor of the house.

“We'll discuss this later. WRO troops have arrived and commenced rescue operations. We could use your help, Riku.” The black haired man said, he and the red haired man began to walk away, Riku said, “Doctor.” The black haired man stopped and partially turned around, Riku continued, “I don't know what you are up to, but I want absolutely no part of it.” “But... You helped rid the worlds of darkness three years ago! We need your help once mor—”

A hail of gunfire burst through the man's stomach; Namine shot down the enemy soldier, as Riku ran to the man's side, he shouted, “Doctor!” He went to pick up "the doctor", who fell apart into several pieces. Out popped a black and white cat wearing a crown, gloves, a cape, and boots.

“That was a close one! Never was good at fighting. Luckily, I came out wearing ‘Harry.’” He said in an Irish accent happily, “You're really not a bad bloke, are you, Riku? You pretend not to care, but you always come through in the end.” Riku sighed and facepalmed, “Alright, what do you want me to do?”

“Let's run those lads outta town. I'll leave the method up to you, Namine, and the little lass. When you've tidied things up, meet me at the square in front of the east church.” Riku, Namine and the girl departed the house and continued to go around the islands, assisting the WRO and killing enemy units. To give them some insight as to who the WRO was, the girl introduced them to one WRO member who was willing to tell.

“Sir! The WRO was originally established three years ago after the defeat of the darkness. With two of Earth’s heroes at its helm, our organization is dedicated to aiding the healing process of the worlds, as well as protecting them from any who attempt further harm.” He explained, eventually the trio reached an open area in front of a church. The helicopter from before showed up and the trio got out their weapons. Though the girl and Namine were the only ones who could shoot from a distance, Riku used Aero on himself to jump into the air and strike the helicopter. After the fight, Riku jumped into the air, hitting at the helicopter a few times, then, landing on top of it, transformed into some kind of dark beast and punched it.

He jumped off as the helicopter exploded, and he transformed back to Riku. Enemy soldiers emerged from the vicinity and fired at Riku, Namine, and the girl; a truck drove in front of them, shielding them from the gunfire; WRO members poured out the back and returned fire, accompanied by the real doctor, who nodded at Riku. Riku nodded back]

Relative calm had been restored to the islands, while Riku sat on a crate with Namine and the girl standing beside him, watching the doctor talk to a WRO commander. At the end of the conversation they saluted, followed by the doctor walking over to the trio. He pushed his glasses as he spoke, “Good work, Riku. Let me introduce myself, I am Doctor Harry James Potter. You’ve already met my partner, Ron Weasely, and my creation, Cait Sith, as well as teamed up with our top Intel gather, Lukya Guado. The enemy is retreating. It seems they have finally begun their withdrawal from the islands.”

“Good.” Riku said, Harry sighed, “However, we still require your and Namine’s assistance. Reports are Twilight Town is under attack. I have a Gummi ship ready to take you to Yen Sid’s tower.”

Riku looked down... he knew he got a job to do, but felt glad he wasn’t going to be alone doing, meanwhile in a dark alley of Twilight Town, two WRO members were taking cover behind crates. One of them was engulfed by black smoke. “Hey, toss me another clip.” One said, he turned around to see no one is there, before being engulfed himself. A group of four WRO Members came running by, with the fourth one being engulfed by the smoke. The remaining three ran into a warehouse.

“Where did everyone go?” One asked, a noise was heard above and the WRO Members looked up. A scantily-clad girl with red hair and red eyes holding a weapon of some sort smirked at them, her voice sported a slavic accent. Another member asked, “Who the hell are you!?” “Rosso. Rosso the Crimson.” She said, simply, a third asked, “Tsviets?”

Her weapon opened up, and instantly she appeared behind the three WRO members and in one broad move slashed them in their necks. They fell down, Rosso smiled, “The mighty WRO... They wouldn't last a day in the Neo Organization.”
