Sora one day was resting on the Destiny Islands when a meteor (which it appeared to be) crashed next to him. Upon picking it up, he saw it was orange and it had 4 stars on it. He went to ask Merlin about it and Merlin told him the legend of the Dragon Balls. Sora then took it upon himself to collect all 7. Sora (upon landing in the Dragon Ball world by himself) was in the middle of a small island. When he asked where he was, the Registration person said: "Papaya Island. Are you here to sign up for the tournament?" Sora signed up, went inside, and watched a girl named Videl fighting a man named Spopovich (as the announcer said). "Something's not right about that Spopovich guy." Sora told himself. He left for the bathroom and when he came back, Gohan (a fighter in the tournament) asked if he had seen his dad anywhere. Sora said no and Gohan asked for a favor after introducing himself. Sora accepted the request and left to collect a Senzu bean at Korrin's tower.
