A New Day Has Come By: .:BookWorm:. Disclaimer: I DO NOT own Kingdom Hearts or anything related to it. Chapter One: Rememberance She remembered the say they shared that moment. The three of them were sitting on the Paopu tree watching the waves and sunset. At that moment, she promised herself she wouldn’t forget this moment and she especially forget her friends. Ever, but even she knew that promise wouldn’t last forever. She just wished she wasn’t right. One night, there was a huge black hole on her island her two best friends disappeared into the darkness. She also did, but ended up losing her heart. At first, she didn’t get her normal heart back; it was her friends’ heart. All three of them were suppose to go home together, but that never happened because the other boy, whose name was Riku, went back to the darkness and the other boy decided to go find him before they all went home together. Then, before her and a familiar boy with brown hair departed, she got her normal heart returned back. What he said to her was words she would never forget, “Kairi, remember what you said before, Well, I’m always with you too. I’ll come back to you, I promise!” And she believed every word he told her. So, ever since then, she has waited, and waited, and waited for her two best friends to come home. The only thing that bothered was that she could only remember one of their names. It was Riku. She thought that they would come home quicker, and she would be able to remember the other boys’ name, but they didn’t. Time passed and things started to change. Her short reddish hair grew longer; she got taller, more mature and kept losing memories of the boy she wanted to remember. Another thing that bothered her was when she asked anyone in her town about Riku and the mystery boy. They said they only knew who Riku was and not the other boy. “Was he just an illusion?” Kairi asked herself walking to her house. The Next day, as she was standing up staring out at the sea and Island, she closed her eyes and promised herself, “I’ll never go back to the island until I remember his name.” When she opened her eyes, she imagined the stone in the small cave behind the bush. On it was her and the boy couldn’t remember. It was strange to her. She couldn’t remember a lot about the boy, but yet she could remember the stone with her and the boys’ face carved into it. Maybe it’s because every time she would go in the cave. That was one of the carving she would see. She fell on her knees and covered her face as the tears started to fall from her eyes. “How could I forget?” She cried to herself. “How could I forget the memories? I want to keep them near. I want to remember.-”She stopped covering her face and stared back at the Island. “-I want to remember!” She shouted the last line. “Kairi?” A familiar female voice said. Kairi turned around with wet stained cheeks. The voice came from one of her closest friends, Selphie. She noticed that Kairi was crying. “Oh my gosh, Kairi!” She shouted really worried and ran towards Kairi. “Kairi, What’s wrong!? What happened!? Who did this!?” Selphie kept asking her questions. Kairi just shook her head ‘no.’ “It’s nothing. I just got sand in my eye.” She said while rubbing her eye with the back of her hand. “Oh, okay.” Selphie answered with a sigh of relief. She helps Kairi to her feet and walked home with her to make sure she was okay. Selphie was a really kind friend. The only thing that some girls didn’t like about her, and she doesn’t like about some other girls, is the fact that she’s really obsessed with Riku. Kairi wouldn’t be surprised if she had pictures of Riku all over her room. Yeah, that’s just how obsessed she is. The next day, after school, Kairi was walking home by herself until she heard the same voice from yesterday. “Kairi!” Selphies’ voice shouted. ”Wait up!” Kairi stopped in her foots steps to let Selphie catch up with her. Once she did, they started walking. “Hey,” Selphie started talking, “Do you feel like going out to the island? Tidus and Wakka are all wrapped up in their ball game and they won’t go with me.” Kairi didn’t look at her; instead she kept walking and said, “Not today, sorry.” Selphie stopped walking for a minute. “Aw, why not.” She whined, as she started walking again. Kairi still didn’t look at her and just asked, “Do you remember those boys that use to hang out with us?” “Riku?” Selphie asked with a smile. “Yeah.” Kairi said with a nod, she stopped walking and so did Selphie. “I wonder whatever happened to him.” She said, sadly. “I sure miss him.” Kairi stared at the sky and smiled. “He’s far away. But we’ll see him again.” Selphie just stared at her like she was insane and said, “Sure. Of course we will.” There was silence between them until Kairi broke it. “And the other boy?” Kairi asked. Selphie didn’t understand what she was talking about. “What other boy?” She replied back with a question. “The one who was with Riku and me all the time- we played together on the island.” Kairi answered. “His voice always used to be there…but now it’s gone. I can’t think of his face, or his name. I feel awful about it. So I told myself- I’m not going to the island until I remember everything about him.” Selphie still didn’t know who she was talking about. “Are you sure you didn’t make him up?” She asked. Kairi nodded. “Namine?” A boy’s voice said inside Kairis’ head. Kairi put her hand on her head as if she had a headache “Namine…what’s happening to me?” The males’ voice asked again. “Who are you? And that’s not my name. I’m Kairi.” Kairi replied. “Kairi…I know you. You’re that girl he likes.” The guy said. “Who? Please, a name!” Kairis’ voice panicked. “I’m Roxas.” The boy introduced. “Okay, Roxas, but can you tell me his name?” She asked. “You don’t remember my name? Thanks a lot, Kairi!” A familiar male’s voice interrupted. Kairi let out a gasp. Then the male voice started to speak again, “O-Kay, I guess I can give you a hint. Starts with and “S.” Kairi was lying on the sandy ground when she started to wake up. She sat up at the same time Selphie kneeled down. “Are you okay?” She asked, worried. Kairi nodded then stood up at the same time as Selphie. The both of them looked out to the island and sea. Then, Kairi started to run towards the beach. Selphie just stood there dumb folded. “Kairi…?” Selphie asked herself, watching Kairi run away. So, she followed her to the same place she was headed. Kairi stopped running when the water from the waves could touch the tip of her school shoes. Selphie stopped behind her and watched Kairi kneel down to put something in the water. It was a glass bottle with a letter in it. “What’s that?” Selphie asked in her casual tone. ‘A letter,” Kairi answered.”I wrote it yesterday to the boy I can’t remember. I said that no matter where he is…I’ll find him. One day. And when I stopped writing, I remembered we made a promise, something important. This letter is where it starts. I know it. “Wow,” Selphie said in awe. “I hope he gets it.” “He will.”Kairi said with a determined smile. Selphie nodded, still confused about everything. Kairi stood up and kept her smile on her face. “Starts with an ‘S.’” Kairi started. “Right, Sora.” Kairi! Wake up!” A female voice said. It was Kairis’ mother, who was also shaking her to wake up from her sleep. “What is it?” Kairi groaned as her eyes opened. ‘Sora is outside waiting for you.” Her mother told her. “Oh!” Kairi jumped out of bed and quickly got ready after her mom left her room. She took a quick shower then she put on her normal short pink zipper dress and shoes. She left her room and walked towards her house door. When she opened the door it was Sora with his warm welcoming smile. “Hello, Sora!” Kairi said with a smiled. Soras’ smile grew wider. “So, you remember my name now?” He asked and laughed. Ever since the day he and Riku came back to the island, it’s been a joke between him and Kairi to see if Kairi remembers Soras’ name or not. She usually feels bad about it, but seeing Soras’ smile has always made her feel better. They both started walking towards the down the road to meet up with Riku, Selphie, Tidus and Wakka at the Island. As Kairi was walking, she thought, “Don’t worry, Sora. Even if you leave again, I’ll be thinking of you, wherever you are.” End Of Chapter One Sorry for any wrong punctuation, grammer, or spelling. I'll try to update the next chapter soon!
