So, I was surfing Youtube, and I found one of the most recent things that have been uploaded,

And found the video above, Kids React To Hatsune Miku.

Even though some of them INSULT the FABULOUS Miku, it's kinda funny. But not as funny as
THE NYAN CAT one.

Well then, Those Kids huh? XD

I was personally displeased with the responses of the selected children who watched Hatsune-san. Their naivete is repulsive, yet I cannot blame them. Most of them can't even grasp the entirety of the vocaloid programs and the advancements in holographic technology. However, i thoroughly enjoyed Hatsune-san, her songs are very wonderful.

*facepalm to the highest degree*

True. They may not fully grasp the technology pov, but I do believe what was said is absolutely dead on. This technology is amazing, and can spark progress in the music industry, but think of the sacrifice that will be made. Real singers will be cut off as people with handcraft skills were replaced back in the industrial revolution. These kids were pretty smart, and I hoped more people would see life that way instead of giant fantasy. The companies don't care for creativity too much, the #1 goal is always profit....no matter what.

You know morals have gone down the drain when teenagers go on the internet to complain about how "OMG HOW CAN THEY NOW UNDERSTAND/LOVE MIKU RAGE" and pay no mind to things like the fact that one nine year old referred to Hannah Montana as a whore.

They should do a "Kids react to pro wrestling" so they can call that fake too.

I guess I can see where people wouldn't understand vocaloids/Miku when they first hear about it. I mean I thought it was an anime the first time I heard of it. It is pretty cool what the Vocaloid programs are capable of though.

The last part of the Miku one made me sad. "NOT REAL MUSIC. DO NOT WANT."

I personally consider myself more of a fan of the musician behind some of the Vocaloid songs. You still have to compose the music, write the lyrics, configure the timing and melody. If you don't speak Japanese, there are more steps involved like finding a capable translator that won't unintentionally ruin the meaning of your song. Then, you have to find the right compression and equalizing settings so the Vocaloid's voice is clear, not to mention the initial buying of the $200 software and the fact that your song might not even gain exposure/popularity no matter how hard you work on it. I think the Vocaloid software and the idea behind it is kind of amazing. It's not as though the Crypton company/branches are the only ones profiting from it, the software is available to everyone which is convenient for upcoming independent or student musicians.

tl;dr I think Vocaloid or not, Japanese or not, music is music and just because it's Vocaloid or any other voice synthesizer does not make it any less that.

Buuuut, because of the lack of understanding, such a thing as all singers being replaced by computer synthesizers in some media robot-apocalypse does not seem likely. At all. Technologically altered human voices? Auto-Tune? Yes. Complete over-turn? I don't think very many people would stand for it, myself included.

...I don't care about Nyan-cat, though.

I don't understand why you're facepalming like that. She probably just meant that she looked like one of the characters out of Pokemon, as in the human ones. At that age I probably would have said the same thing. Though at the same time, the Miku in that video DOES look a bit like a pokemon. *shudder*

My opinion? I enjoy the technology, it's amazing, I dislike everything else though.

I still need to watch the Hatsune one, but the nyan cat, oh my lord.
Those kids had the right reaction when they were annoyed, especially that one kid who they never gave the name out to. At least msot of the boys got the right idea. Never listen to nyan cat, never get it in your head, and never even so much as say the word "nyan". At least I'm glad a majority of them were annoyed, because I'm glad I'm not alone.

I'll get back to you on the Hatsune video, because I have no idea who it is for the most part, so I need to do a little research
