Voxli Rules

How This is Going to Work
Voxli is a chatroom. Inherently, chatrooms are different from forums. What is allowed in a chatroom differs depending on who is present. Therefore, there will be two types of rules: Hard and Soft.
Hard Rules are, as the name suggests, hard-and-fast, non-negotiable rules. These are used for content which is always inappropriate and unwanted on Voxli (e.g. pornographic material).
Soft Rules are for milder content, and behave a tad differently to Hard Rules. These are for the borderline content that would be in violation of the KHV rules, but would not upset anyone in the chatroom. Soft Rules may be broken at your discretion, with one caveat: if someone in the room sends a complaint to me with a screenshot attached, then it will be treated as a violation of the rules.
If reasonably possible, the person reporting the incident should request for the behaviour to cease before resorting to reporting. It is morally questionable to laugh alongside someone at Desu spam, then report them behind their backs.
Please include time and date with the screenshots taken.

Hard Content
Pornographic material – Anything that includes genitalia and/or sexual intercourse for the purpose of sexual arousal is prohibited. As a rule of thumb, if it is on Youtube, it is not pornographic.
Gore – Live-action/photographic gore is prohibited, for obvious reasons. Again, if it is on Youtube, you're usually in the clear.
Endorsing of KHV rules violations – Voxli is not to be used to plot, endorse or condone violation of the rules of KHV. Discussion of past events is fine. Joking around is walking a knife edge. Anything that results in deleted posts/warnings on KHV is out of line.
Cybering – Voxli is not to be used for graphic sexual roleplay/messages. Messing about is fine, provided it does not venture into erotica.
Impersonation – Pretending to be another member is unacceptable. It is no longer a joke if others genuinely believe you to be that member.

Soft Content
Flaming – Heated discussions happen. This isn't necessarily a bad thing unless someone is directly offended. If flaming occurs, and you wish to lodge a complaint, do not escalate the situation. Remember, if anyone in the room complains, anyone responsible for flaming is in violation of the rules.
Offensive jokes – Jokes are funny. Jokes about minorities are also funny. In addition, they can be offensive. Like in normal conversation, be socially conscious and aware of who is listening before saying anything.
Highly offensive messages – Anything suitably offensive. e.g. racial slurs, telling someone to kill themselves, etc.
Abusing the voice announcer – Repeated changing of names, use of incredibly long names, exiting and rejoining or repeated use of the '/s' command can get irritating. If you're doing it to the extent where someone is reporting you, even after they tell you to stop, you're doing something wrong.
Spam – Posting extremely long messages with the intention of stretching the chat can be humourous, but it can also be a pain in the rear. Likewise, spamming the same message repeatedly is annoying and inconsiderate. More than five repeats is against the rules.
Abuse of the microphone – Intentionally creating loud noises for others in the chat can be entertaining, but can also be obnoxious.
Abuse of the icons – As fun as spamming up the chat with tons of icons is, sometimes it irritates people. If someone tells you to stop, please stop (to infinity). *added 09/07/11*

Password/Account Rules
Do not give the password to those outside of the group. (Hard Offence)
Direct people to the group, instead of giving them the password. Making a KHV account is easy.
Sign up to Voxli.
As the Captcha for signup does not work for some browsers, PM me with name/password/email and I will make an account for you.
Use your username somewhere in your screen name to confirm your identity. (A.K.A. Use a blue name.)
Do not share your account password with others, unless you are Risk and Christhor. (Hard Offence)
Keep in mind that without an authenticated identity via a blue name, the person could be an impostor.
An admin may ban you until you use a blue name or otherwise confirm your identity. *updated 24/09/11*

Warnings/Bannings
Warnings are recorded in a notepad document by me. I'll notify you if you receive one, so you can contest it or acknowledge it.
A single warning is handed out for a Soft offence, while a double warning is handed out for a Hard.
Three warnings will result in the user being removed from the Voxli Group for a week and the password being changed.
Subsequent sets of three warnings will result in a month removal, and finally a permanent ban.
If it is a particularly bad offence, I reserve the right to be harsher.
If the user denies committing an offence, and is later found to have been lying, the user is automatically awarded the three warnings. (This is intended for identity-related violations, and does not affect your ability to contest the judgement.)
Admins may use the in-Voxli ban tool at their discretion, in order to temporarily remove a member from the conversation.

Room Administrators *added 24/09/11*
Use of the account 'KHVids' will be shared to certain users, who will use it to moderate the room.
Current admins are Ace Phoenix, Guardian Soul, Llave de Espada, Midnight Star, P and What?
They are there to play Youtube videos, remove troublemakers from the room and act as an objective observer for any rule violation.
If a Hard Rule is broken, an admin will ban the offender and screenshot the violation.
If a Soft Rule is broken and people take displeasure from it, the offender will be asked to desist. If the offender continues, the admin will ban and screenshot the violation.
Bans are only temporary kicks from the room, not hard-bans. Once the offensive activity has ceased, the user will be allowed back.
All violations will be reviewed by me, with removal from the Voxli group managed in the same way.
Member Cullings *added 24/09/11*
A thread will be made on the first week of every month.
Members will have a week to post in the thread. Those who do not will be removed from the group.
Members removed in this fashion will be readded on request.
This is to remove inactive members and reduce the pool of potential leakers and trolls.
Guest System *added 24/09/11*
People are already sharing the password to others. Restricting it doesn't work.
Instead, if a member give out a password to someone outside of the group, they should post in the group to say so, and to whom they gave it to.
Guests are to announce who they are and who invited them when they enter the room. (This can also be done via name, etc.)
Unless a guest has announced who invited them, with such information matching what the inviter posts in the group, the 'guest' is to be placed in the ban room.
Guests should preferably get a Voxli account and a KHV account as soon as possible.

Voxli on KHV *added 30/06/11*
While KHV staff do not moderate Voxli, they are responsible for moderating KHV. As such, they will deal with any rule violations related to KHV.
Specific Voxli discussion should be kept to this group or VMs/PMs. Please do not make additional threads on Voxli.
You may place a link to Voxli or this group in your signature.
Voxli memes, jokes and references are allowed on the forum, provided they follow the usual rules of KHV.
This group is a part of KHV, and still follows the KHV rules.
To restate, posting about drama, flaming and call-outs will result in a warning or an infraction for you.
KHV staff are not responsible for Voxli. Please contact me, not KHV staff, about any issues occurring in the Voxli chatroom.

P! Why have you turned so fascist?!
The rules, for the most part, are already in place. Including them merely adds a recognisable structure to them, and moves the unwritten rules into written territory.
I don't intend to be the fun-police. If you believe the rules restrict something unnecessarily, feel free to hit me up on PM, MSN or Voxli. I'm open to discussion.
The purpose of the rules is to make Voxli more enjoyable for the community overall. If enough people dislike them, I will have no qualms with cutting them back or removing them.
The warning system can help prevent witch-hunts and paranoia when it comes to removing people from Voxli, and makes the process less arbitrary.
Personally, I will only punish those I see posting Hard Content. Unless someone else complains, I will not act on Soft Content.
Voxli itself is still walking a thin line, and it seems some people are intent on seeing how far they can push the staff before they snap. This game of staff-baiting has to stop; it just creates needless tension.

Good girl Kelly, for reporting when you invited a guest. I am so chuffed, I am going to rep you. (Or rather, I would, but I need to spread it around before I can. Remind me some other time.)

Question! Are you allowed to mute the moderators of the KH-Vids voxli room of dot com?

Sure. But if you do and then break a rule, don't be too surprised if you get put in the banroom without warning.

Fair enough. It's a tad difficult for them to give fair warning if they're muted though. :p
