Okay, so who is the murderer?

I'm struggling to decide how to choose the murderer. If we should volunteer/nominate then vote or if we should use a random number generator. Problem with a RNG is if we get someone with no/a vey weak motive or someone who will be under imediate suspicion. Or we look at the plot thing, assuming we use it, and choose between us who would work best. (For some reason I want it to be Daxa xD) I wasn't even sure if I should tell everyone who the murderer is. Anyway, I need advice. What do people think should happen?

If we go with "who fits best" then that means we're basically doing exactly what the detectives will be expected to; figuring it out based on possibilities, and that would likely make it easy for them to figure it out.
A Random Number Generator would be fairest, but then we still have the issues of weak motives, although personally I think that if everybody put thought in and made up their own solid motives based on what we already have, that would work somewhat smoother.

My idea is that a RNG is used, but the result is only given to the muderer themselves. This will create the most "realistic" effect; since the other suspects won't know who did commit it, but will know that they themselves didn't, and would have to convince the detectives of such.
That has its own problems though; since we might end up with a brilliant liar as the culprit and somebody who is innocent being stuck for ideas with their defence.

Hmm, that could work. Though I'm not sure how I'd actually do it so the detectives could eventually find the culprit - it needs to be solveable and they can't do it on motives alone as if we're giving everyone motives. The point about a brilliant liar and stuff, the idea about the group is we can help eachother we things like that. We suss out motives on here, only the actual act would be hidden. If someone is a really weak liar, we can bring in extra evidence to help them. It just means the actual evidence, I would have to do on my own. Not sure how confident I am about that.

Evidence and clues should be pretty easy; it doesn't have to be anything blatant like DNA under the fingernails, it could be something such as finding something belonging to LARiA in Makaze's room, which would point to Makaze's wife being the murderer, or even something really small, like somebody hearing a bath running shortly after the Estimated Time of Death.
