Kingdom Hearts KH1 End defeating Ansem

Okay, i'm at the part where Sora, Donald and Goofy made it to the fake destiny Islands, where Ansem was there in Riku's form, then he turns into the heartless Ansem

I can beat him with Donald and Goofy, I can beat the big shadow heartless, but i can't beat him with sora alone

i always get from one hit away from defeating him, but he comes back at me and kills me.


What do I do?

 

have you tried healing often? Or mabey your just not a high enofe lvl, because I was a lvl 55 when I finally beat him...

 

Idk what level i am but i'm fully equipped with hi potions

 

have you healed often? BTW you might want some enthers(sp?) because you will probally run out of mp from all the healing you have to do...

 

do you have the ultima keyblade if not get it it helps ...or level up while getting the stuff to make the keyblade works to

 

What you can also do is use Aero(I think thats what its called)its magic.It protects you.You will stil get hurt but not that bad if you didn't use it.I used that and it help me alot or use Tinker Bell.She'll heal you.Which ever works best for you.

 

I agree with what the others have said. Also, when he's doing his attack where he charges at you, use guard and you'll stun him for a few seconds, long enough to get in a combo.

 

My best advice is to wait for him to show an opening, which is usually after he misses an attack. Also, lock onto him, and dodge roll like 80% of the time. Its your most usefull tool against Ansem second form.

Also, equip MP rage, and MP haste, and have cure as a quick link. Whenever he hits you, you will gain more than 1 mp, and casting cure will recover more damage than he can do in one hit.

So with those abilities, and the ability to not get hit while tring to cast cure (really good dodging), and your indestructable.

By the way, he is the most difficult boss in the game besides the optional bosses.

 

Always Heal urself i think

 

Areo helps if your not a good healer because it increases defense and can deflect some attacks, but it costs 2 MP the MP recovery from MP rage is dulled, so use it only if you are stuggling to heal properly. Leaf Veil is a godsend if your in FM. And don't hold back on limits as long as you still have MP to heal. The lower your MP the faster it restores, and after this battle is smooth sailing. The extra damage and invincability is too good to pass up.

 

I use trinity limit then use an ether and repeat the process.

 

Doesn't that only work when Donald and Goofy are with you?

like in KHII, i performed trinities without one of the ally's

 

I'm pretty sure you can only use it with Donald and Goofy.

 

yeah, i was looking and i think it only can happen in KHI when you have to have donald anad goofy... besides, you must have 2 other ally's in order to do a trinity, and Sora is all by himself where I get stuck on him

 

You mean when he has the Shadow Guardian on his back?

Well, with any battle use Aeroga, it's your life saver really. Remember to lock on. If i remember correctly, his movements/attacks can become quite erratic, so it'll be easier to keep an eye on him. A lot of folk suggest using moves like Raganork (I didn't though), but you will need to watch your MP if you do use it. Luckily your MP slowly regenerates after you attack him. Mainly use Air combo's on him, and keep at him.

When his guardian moves infront of him, attack from behind. Obivous. Remember to use dodge roll a lot in this battle, especially when he fires out black orbs. becarefull when he shouts 'Submit!'. If the gaurdian catches you you won't be able to attack. I believe you can dodge this by dodge rolling to the side.

When Aeroga runs out cast it again. Have lots of Hi potions on you, and keep attacking whenever you have the chance. If you still die easily go and train some more, heck even try and get the Ultima weapon.

 

I tried that today and i still couldn't get past it

I'm like a lvl 38 i think right now, so that might be the problem

 

Are you on normal or expert? If its normal your level is fine... if your on expert then you should level built a bit... get at least to 40+, preferably 50 if you want to have a good sized edge.

Anything over 50 is overkill for anything in the game except Sephiroth.

i don't remember if it was 32 or 38 but i think its 38

 

That should be plenty. My friend beat him when his level was something like 21, he beat Sephiroth at 35 on normal. I beat it on expert the first time through, so I'm not sure which level would be suitable, I was around 50, and I though he was a peice of cake.

Make sure your using dodgeroll a lot. I abused it throughout the match.


But if your still concerned about your level:
Go ahead an backtrack, doing sidequest. Careful with the optional bosses, they are way harder than Ansem. Try to find puppies, look for more spells ect. Ultima or sythezize Crystal Crowns, and Powerups are nice. You can go mushroom hunting for Defence and Powerups. Also, start a (Magic)Arts collection.
