Keyblade Armor is something that has become a part of KH, it doesn't really seems out of place after BBS. However we still don't know anything about it, such as how you get it, and the only characters who have it are characters from 10 years ago, Xion (which doesn't make any sense,) and Xemnas. Do you think that our main characters will get Keyblade Armor? Do you think we will get an explanation in a future title? Personally, I am expecting a scene similar to how Sora got access to drive forms, albeit a little heavier on the details. I wouldn't mind them getting Keyblade Armor (though I am kinda against his Keyblade being able to change shape, that's just silly), but if he does get armor we need a good explanation for why he is just now getting it, and how he never had access to it before. What do you think? and why wasn't this addressed during the mark of mastery exam in DDD? edit, just had a thought: What if Keyblade Armor takes the place of Drives in KH3? They have access to the armor, and they can use it for a short period of time in which they get stronger. Not a fleshed out thought, but something to speculate about.
Personally I don't want any of the current KH main characters to get the keyblade armor but I feel it is likely they will. And if they do get it I think there's a high chance it will be explained once they get it since they won't know much about the armor. Keyblade armor replacing drives actually sounds great imo since a lot of people wanted drives back and they could get something new but similar.
The only way I'd be okay with them getting the armor, would be if they take place of the Drive Forms. I loved the drive forms, but I think it'd be cool to get different armors as well. IF they do that, I hope we get something like how the drive forms were. (i.e: two keyblades and each form was something different)
I would personally love for the Drive Forms to return and that be it, but since the chances of that happening are very small, I think that would be a nice alternative.
I think Xion only had the Armour because she was made of memories inside sora, and re:coded states that the memories of Terra, Aqua, and Ventus are inside him. Hence; Keyblade Armour for Xion.
