It's always sad when a species dies off, but man 6 declared in one week?
I know declaring one is extinct doesn't mean its extinct, it only means they have not seen said animal for a long time. Heck I think they found some frog recently that they thought died off. But still, its a scary thought.

(well technically the bear doesnt count since black bears still go on)

Extinction is one of two things, natural selection or human intervention. Only the former is what I accept, the latter is not.

Unfortunately it is likely that the latter of these two things was the cause of the death of these species and will continue to be the death of species for many years to come.

It takes three decades for them to decide if something is extinct? So basically it could have already been extinct at least 9 years before I was born.

Well it's sad to hear that then, I know there's a lot of good people out there trying to preserve a lot of species that are endangered.
