I'm going to gamestop on Wednesday to buy it. I decided that that it would be better if I bought it a while before I leave so I could have a chance to beat it before the 21st. Beofre I get it, does anyone have any thing to tell me that I should know of before I get it? "Forewarned is Forearmed" after all....wait, did I even say that right?
Why don't you wait till you get the game and find out for yourself? But yeah, have fun. I borrowed it from a friend and didn't except much from the game. The characters are always so emo lol but whenever I get far and the story gets good and something happens to the characters Im like ****. I got addicted playing it. I guess I can tell you one thing about the game. People turn into ice sculptures.
Make damn sure to get a real cheap second-hand copy : you don' t want to pay full-price for what' s essentially the love child of an AI-ridden straight-line beat' em all and a movie, peppered with overused shonen clichés driving the whole "plot".
well, since I have a 20% off coupon for pre-owned, I'm getting pre-owned. Let me see, get the $19 dollar game pre-owned, or the $40 dollar pre-owned game.....I'll stick with the $19
I honestly don't see why there is so much freaking hate for this game. //Rant mode: Initiate// I mean really, the game is linear and there are no chances to explore early on? Boo-hoo! Clearly this game is more plot driven and tries to speed you along so you can get to the best part of the game. There's nothing wrong with that, and are you trying to tell me that you'd like to spend so much more time with the split up party early on, rather than have a FULL party with which you can customise? Characters are emo? Who cares?! EVERYONE HAS PROBLEMS! Are you trying to say you don't like to vent about them? And honestly, Tidus was far worse. Yeesh >.> //Rant mode: Deactivate// Anywho, if I had to tell you anything, it would be that the final boss is ridiculously easy. And that if you enjoy JRPGs, you should enoy this one as much as any other. Assuming you don't go in and decide to bitch about something that's different from other games in the series, because honestly, if it wasn't different in a few ways, then it would be like you're playing the same game again >.>
Get the $19 dollar game with poor character writing and dull gameplay or the $40 game with somewhat improved character writing, much better gameplay, and an actual "Final Fantasy" feel.
Hopefully XIII doesn't burn you out like it did with me, Aqua. I almost passed on the great game that is XIII-2 due to the disaster that was XIII. Tidus was never emo, neither was any of the FFXIII cast as far as I recall. Tidus was extremely childish though, lol. And he always used Yuna as a doormat, it broke my heart back in the day, though he was pretty realistic as far as sports stars go.
You should give it a chance. The only way you might enjoy it is if the storyline pulls you in, if it doesn't, then you'll get bored. Also, it's not very replayable, but overall, I kind of enjoyed it. [/longdetaileddescription]
