    Well...

It mainly focuses on the adventures of a band of mages, particularly a vertigo-prone fire mage named Natsu Dragneel and his self-obssessed partner, a sorceress named Lucy Heartphilia, while they're doing jobs and missions for this guild called Fairy Tail. Aside from that, it also tackles Natsu's personal quest to find Igneel, a dragon who served as his foster father and who taught him how to use his fire magic.

The art style isn't roughly drawn (which I like) and for those manga readers who prefer their art to "pop" out of the pages, then Fairy Tail won't disappoint you. In fact, along with another shonen manga called Q.E.D., it garnered the Best Shonen Manga award for 2009 from Japanese manga publisher Kodansha.

The general mood of Fairy Tail is usually humerous but it can also be serious at times. The light and breezy scenes are surprisingly handled well and most of the running gags aren't as off-putting/over-the-top as most shonen mangas. Actually, there is a lot of potential for humor when the subject of the manga is a magic guild full of funny weirdos.

The two main characters, Natsu and Lucy, are both equally complex and yet, can be so simple-minded at the same time.

Being a fire mage, Natsu relies on eating fire to keep his health going. Coupled with his fiery diet, he also has highly volatile mood swings. When he gets angry, the fire can literally explode out of him. Lucy, on the other hand, calls herself a sorceress but she can be seen as more of a summoner. She uses a variety of keys to call out spirits and magical figures to do her bidding. Some of the spirits she summons have entertaining personalities and they can be considered characters in their own right.

Natsu, Lucy and her summoned creatures, aren't the only characters in this series though.

Being part of the Fairy Tail guild, they're also accompanied by a variety of wizards and sorceresses, including an old midget who can transform into a giant, an ice mage who can't seem to keep his clothes on, siblings who have the power to "absorb" monsters, and many other colorful characters. If you highly doubt that you won't be able to relate with the two main characters, then you can breathe easy. The supporting cast is quite large (it's a "guild" after all) and most of them are well fleshed-out. Each of them has their own shining moments as the series goes on.

    ..........

As for the anime, it isn't as good as the manga. :/

I liked it better when it was called One Piece.
Also Needless, because I will not let any anime thread go by without this ****awesome show.

Yes, it looks a lot like One Piece. <.< It still isn't bad.

    I've never tried watching Needless.
