ITunes is turning into PainintheassTunes, how do I fix this?

    I'm simply trying to sync my iPod at this point, and it won't because whenever iTunes opens, it does some stupid crap called "Determining Gapless Playback Information" which then proceeds to freeze up the computer. I've read that you can disable it by clicking the x and then turning it off in preferences, but it freezes before I can even click the x. What do I do?

    ..Does anyone know how I can disable this so I can add more songs and fix my iPod?
