It turns out I had Dota 2 bound to my Steam account

And didn't even know.

It's okay in my opinion. But League of Legends is better to me. And because in DotA 2, there's a store where you can buy usable weapons, it reminds me of TF2 a lot where there is also a in-game store. But instead of a First-Person Shooter, it's a strategy game.

Perhaps you should ask the many people who received 293 copies of that game for free on Steam earlier this year for whatever reason.

 

It took a lot of work for me to enjoy it. It wasn't worth it.

 

You're right... Although most of my classmates would say otherwise...

 

My opinion on having played one game of DOTA 2.

If you like League of Legends, play that instead of DOTA 2.
If you don't like League of Legends, don't play DOTA 2.

 

So I've played the intro and got about a minute into a bot match, and I'm not too fond of the camera control, and lack of edge scrolling. The in-match shop is poorly organised and lacks detail. From what I saw, champions don't have obvious roles, until you play them. Thankfully it's just a beta game still, so hopefully it gets better.
