Antisocial is not the same as asocial. The term antisocial means that the subject is actively aggressive towards and means harm to society; being antisocial is synonymous with being a sociopath in the context of psychology. It does not mean that they simply wish to avoid society. It is called "Antisocial Personality Disorder" for a reason. There is not necessarily an overlap in practice, either, as a sociopath will often thrive in society in order to help them bring harm to it. They are considered extremely charismatic by nature and manipulative to a fault. Asocial means that they are averse to society and social interaction and would rather shy away into their own heads in peace than deal with it in any way.
