Yes guys...that's right. In NY it is now a felony to sell a mature rated game to someone under the age of 18. To those of you that don't know: This means you could very easily get LIFE in prison for selling a video game to a kid!

What the...you've got to be kidding me! That's absolutely outrageous...some kids actually have the maturity to play those games!

Somebody ought to try to change that...it's so stupid...

Is it a felony to play them, or just to sell them?

That's bull. You can easily go online and just order the game saying you're 18+ and they will send it to you without proof. The content is nothing new that kids have already seen anyways, so why stop them?

It makes sense. They're rated M for a reason.

I understand that more action should be taken, but that is too far to get life in prison for it. I say give fines and take more action for those who are caught multiple times.

They are age ratings for a reason.

Isn't it already illegal to sell a rated M game to a kid under 18?

The kid can still play it, just not buy it, right?

Just to sell them. Which is just insane. I mean, if you were to sell alchohol or drugs to a kid, you'd only be charged with a misdemenor. It's a fact now that you can get in worse trouble selling a videogame to a kid then selling them 3 pounds of crystal meth.

Actually, I like DA's idea...even though the whole idea is just a little bit missed up to me.

And I think it was illegal anyway...just not a felony.

Oh...my...god...You've got to be kidding me!

    That's... going way too far.

Yeah, there are a lot of really immature kids out there...

But they set a bad example for the kids who are mature enough to play games like that D:

    AKA ME! D<

I mean... that's... just wrong! I can't even put it into words.

Well it is pretty messed up, but just give the money to your parents and tell them to buy it for you, that's what I do :\

There are so many lovely loop-holes through this law I'm giggling :3

Then parents and relatives will go in instead and buy them. That's stupid. A minor misdemeanor is acceptable, but a felony? I buy stuff for my nephew as well as myself and no one has ever asked me who the games are intended for. I'm older so never get questioned. I even have games recommended. I'm sure that a lot of other adults do it. I rely on common sense and I don't believe there is a 'maturity' switch. Everyone's different.

The felony rule is way too harsh.
