No, it's definitely not me. I would never self-deprecate myself by describing me with something like otaku or weeaboo. I like sushi, but I also like Indian food. I eat ramen, but it's because I'm poor even though prefer taco bell. I drink tea, but I love me a mean dark roast coffee. I watch anime, but I also watch Gumball and My Little Pony. I love Godzilla films, but I certainly don't mind Iron Man. I love me a good Japanese RPG or character action game, but DAMN does Watch Dogs have my attention and hype like nothing else. I'm a geek, and I like to experience different cultures. I don't cling to the word Otaku or Weeaboo because, at the end of the day, I will never fully understand a culture where I don't speak the language, know the daily regimen, and live and I certainly will never gain that through their cartoons. It's a place that I know as soon as I stepped foot in, I'd be an outcast and not fit in until I learned all of that. Anyone who thinks they can learn that kind of stuff through media rather than just glimpses of it should know they're insulting the culture they claim to love so much. EDIT: I'll take my warning and quarterly voyage now. :) I had a great stay this hour, but the flight took far too long and I have to return to work.
Yeah, seriously. "Otaku" should only be used to refer to the entire family anyway. It's an excessively formal honorific used strictly for speaking to another person as if that person were his entire "house," so to speak. I am completely taken by surprise at this development. From now on, my behavior toward you shall contain one more unit of passive-aggressiveness and two more units of respect.
While I do not know who you are, I do appreciate that you also enjoy stellar animation and cheeky senses of humor. I also love Animaniacs... ... It's probably safe to say I love most cartoons.
