Birth by Sleep Is there a connection between Kairi and Aqua?

For those who have played the game is there a connection i heard that Aqua put her soul in Kairi.

 

That was a rumor. Aqua is alive, in her own body, but with Ansem stuck in the dark realm.

The only connection was Aqua visiting Radiant Garden and telling Mickey she felt that Kairi had light in her, not much else.

 

Aqua is the only one of the three to meet Kairi but afaik that's all.
