I've been having these wierd thoughts lately. Like, is any of this for real, or not?
When you think about it, doesn't it seem wierd that Sora is mentioning that he's been having strange dreams? What if we've gone through Kingdom Hearts, CoM, and Kingdom Hearts II (which we all have) and still not considered that the events that are currently happening were really Sora's imagination? I thought about it and figured that it is true he could have fallen asleep while in bed and noticed the storm just before his dinner. He, Kairi and Riku all mention he dreams a lot and Sora finds himself dreaming of different places (kind of like Roxas but different) that he's never been, take Dive to the Heart for example that he only visited in his dreams. Kairi never saw the "Big Black Thing" (as Sora calls it) swallow him up, but we all know that was a dream. The Heartless could've been a dream, as well as Namine`, the Organization, the Disney characters, including the Keyblade, venturing to other worlds, and Kingdom Hearts itself?
I'm not saying my theory is true, but I'm considering the fact Sora could have imagined the events that we have been through with him, Donald, and Goofy. It also could've been true it was a dream because of him falling asleep in bed at his house (mentioned before) while thinking of traveling to other worlds, and possibly the giant Heartless that swallowed him before Kairi woke him up.
Again, I doubt the theory of this is true, and I don't mean to say I don't think Kingdom Hearts never really happened. I also don't know if this has already been asked about or if this is in the wrong section.
    Any questions, compliments or complaints?

I doubt it. If you think about it, to end the series with 'it was all a dream' would cause a huge riot outside of Square-Enix headquarters.

I never thought about that. This could bring entirely new meaning to "Birth by Sleep"

Yeah, I also thought about that before as well. Plus, they're coming out with a bunch of games with stories of other characters.

That's pretty much the biggest copout ever. And I don't think it's a dream. It's been going on for quite a while. And what about the R/R version of CoM? Sora couldn't have dreamed that up, I'm pretty sure.

    Plus the prequel games. :/

I think that the phrase that you've got there, has a different meaning. All the happenings of KHI, CoM and KH II, they're for real (story-wise, of course). I would think that it got something to do with BbS, but still, it makes wonder. Good theory you got there.

I never said I believed the theory is true, I just meant to say that it seems like that when Sora says that. I'd been thinking about it for a while and finally lost control and posted it on the boards for opinions. I could never tell anyone outside of the boards because I don't know anyone who would reason about it with me...I doubt that Sora would sleep that long like what cowboyclucky said.

That would be a total suprise for me , it would be funny if that was true .

Sora was regular boy in a regular town , on the face of planet earth .

    He may of fallen asleep for alongtime due to sleep beauty syndrome , and in this dream he is going on a adventure . And at the end of the dream he dies . ;-;

And yeah , lots of Kingdom Hearts fans may start blowing up Square Enix . xD

If it was all Sora's imagination, it would be the worst video game ending ever. FULL STOP.

As everyone else says, people will be murdering Square-enix if that was it, so I don't think so. Most likely, to Sora, it just all feels unreal, but it actually did happen - which is why there are so many games coming out as sequels to it.

Turn it into a psychological thing, like it was a journey inside his mind, perhaps triggered by some dramatic event.

I could make it work. It could be....some kind of fusion of dreams and reality. Yes it's a dream, but as the kid falls deeper and deeper into the dream world, the more real it becomes. It becomes real because it's real to him.

I don't know, some kind of parallel thing.

Personally, I highly doubt that. Maybe the fact there's heartless coming up at places and Sora, being an ordinary kid, has to save the world n stuff. It's no average job so maybe he was thinking to himself whether this task was just in his dream or not. I dunno... =/

hmm.. that's some really in-depth thought... but I have to say that I disagree...

One reason is that if it was, all of the KH fans all over the globe would be very upset and Square Enix wouldn't want that... Another reason is that if it were all a dream, then what would be the point? If it were all just a dream... and none of it happened... then what was the point of the whole game? And they wouldn't have made a dream go on for so long... if they wanted a longer dream, it would've only lasted until the end of the first game at most.

I don't think any KH fan wants it to be a dream in any way - Sleeping Beauty Syndrome, psychological, anything; I know I don't. I mean, I think even Disney's gonna spaz if that happened.

    A dream? Nah...

Well, if it really all is a dream, then Kairi and Riku must be dreaming along with him because of their own thoughts and experiences as well. Sora may be the protagonist, but he's not the only point of view we as the players see.

And that would be completely messed up if Sora really did dream all of this up. But since he's not the only story here, it's not likely.
