what the title says, the reviews are a mix of both good and bad. and i AM a soul calibur fan but i am tempted to buy Mario party 8 in it's place.
well you see,the game isnt bad as some say the controls are normal but, the levels are repetitive the monsters are too and its not that great. but it fleshes out the story of siegfried and if you can pass all that then , you might enjoy it. you should see youtube videos and check full reviews though.
I can't say if SCL is good or not. However I can ask this: why Mario party 8? Unless you dont have any mario parties, its a bunch of minigames...it gets really bad really quickly.
because Mario Party is fun. i've played it before, i need some multiplayer games, because it's very boring to keep playing single player games. is SCL a multiplayer game?
only reason i'll get scL is because lloyd from Tales of Symphonia is on there the rest can go to hell lol expect Nightmare love that guy lol
bumped....... anyways, i ended up getting both this game AND mario party 8. and i have to say, this game is DEFINTELY worth the $20. the reason so many people dislike it is because they kept comparing it to Soul Calibur 2 and 3 but SCL is not the same fighting game.....nor was it intended to be. in fact it's not really much of a fighting game at all, it's more like an adventure game, kinda like a more action packed version of Zelda. the fighting system is great, though it can be hard to remember what all the swings do. this game really didn't deserve the low ratings it received, it was simply misunderstood. at first the difficulty is very low as expected and you could just spam attacks to win 8/10 fights but when you get to around mid-game, things drastically change. you have to resort to planning your attacks more carefully and deflect enemy attacks while spamming techniques are almost never effective. my only dislikes about the game are: that there are only 7 playable characters, the scarce amount of cutscenes (the ones they DO have are worth seeing tho), and better co-op play. anyways, this game is WORTH getting, it's fun and i would give it an 8/10
It's bad, Llyod will be in a better game later. Not worth it. EDIT: Also, never compared it to the others. It was just annoyingly repeatitive, bad story, too few chars, etc. All you did was run round and swing the wiimote, but if you enjoyed it more power to ya.
It's an alright game, I mean some of the bosses near the end are impossble to beat unless you level up your char.
well, worth the $20 in my opinion i thot so too but there are tricks to beating the later bosses, you have to figure out how to kill them and you have to learn new moves with the characters to be able to win in later stages.
