I'm shaking in my boots for this one. Sampling, and cribbing lyrics. Stealing, borrowing, re-making, re-introducing.
What do you define it as? And yes, this is mostly a, is sampling in rap stealing, cause that's all everyone seems to talk about. But also your opinion in general.

Nah, I dont think so. I think if it was considered stealing people would have done something about it a long time ago.

Not only that but (im not sure) dont artists ask eachother before sampling one another's music?

Some artists use samples so well, it's amazing. I love sampling, I think it's very interesting to see what an artist could do with just one sample.

Take a look at I Feel Like Dying by Lil Wayne, that song is so badass just because of that sample.

    I don't think it's stealing, I think it's using resources.

It's definitely not stealing. If it were then, then it happens way too often. I don't mind it. People can always use their creativity and imagination to make something better than it already was. I'm fine with it.

Illegal? Quite possibly. Stealing? No. The term would be copyright infringement, and with the birth of the internet, copyright laws have become a joke.

I don't think it is stealing since you're not claiming rights to it and are just like the title says sampling it. If it was consider stealing a lot of legal issues would come to the surface as well as a guilty conscience knowing what you are doing is wrong. I see sampling as a creative expression like an artist creating what could be a work of art or a masterpiece.
