Is Multiplayer possible?

DO you think that maybe in KH3 there could be an online multiplayer? Either a Co-Op or a Vs mode?
I personally think it could be done. You can enter an area of random, choose One of the Keyblade weilders/Org 13 member. Choose your command deck, Only using there starter weapons (Kingdom key/org 13 weaps) and only have an option to heal a max of 3 times. 5 min time limit, either one on one or you get to choose 2 companions each(i.e. Donald/goofy/aladin ect) and just fight till either one runs out of hp.
or for Co-Op you can play it off like zombies in black ops only with heartsless/nobodies. you got up to 50 rounds and heartless and nobodies keep comming. each wave with more and get more hp/attack/magic respectivly.
I think itd be pretty cool to have something like that. it would definatly get alot of people to keep playing it for longer than they would (even tho im sure most of us on here will beat it numerous time), itll be a fun thing to do on the side.
And you get to keep stats of each mode (wins/losses, number of heartless/nobodies defeated/highest wave) something like that would be totally awesome in my opinion :)

 

I think if it had multiplayer it would be like DDD or BBS' where you take a minigame in the game and use that in a Vs. mode form of play. It's certainly a possibility.

 

This is making far too many assumptions about something we know nothing about.

In theory it could be done, but I doubt it will.

I personally hope that it won't either.


KH isn't a fighting game.

 

If there's one area that they really need to hit a homerun with in KH3, it's the storyline. Adding multiplayer would take some focus away from that. Balancing multiplayer takes a ton of work as well. If it was to ever happen I think it should be a completely separate game.

KH3 is supposed to be the big conclusion to the Xehanort saga. I want it, it deserves, to be the most theatrical game yet. With emphasis on the story.
I'm not saying I don't want gameplay to take a backseat, but this is going to be an important game for the KH series, something like multiplayer, or even a new iteration of the Mirage Arena, would just hurt the game overall.

Plus, if KH really is going to continue after KH3 and have story beyond Xehanort, this will have to not only end the Xehanort saga satisfactorily, but lay a setting for more story to be told.

 

Everyone wants the story to be epic, i dont want them to have it be satisfactory. Im just saying I think it could be done. maybe as like a patch or something you can download, ofc no one wants it to take away from the story or the main concept of KH, but it was just a theory. and honestly I think KH3 will have well over 20+hours of cutscenes. it will be epic and it will be one of the most epic stories ever told. but given that i personally would like to see somewhat of what i explained as a minigame or something like that. have it be after realease or whatever, but i still think itd b cool.

 

Honestly, I think if you really wanted a KH fighting mini game it should be its own game.
A fighting KH mini game could be really fun, but if you put it in another game it wouldn't be big enough to be as awesome as it could be, and it would also take away from whatever game it is in.

 

do maybe like what assassins creed did, put the story and all everything on one disc, and make a new disk/essentially a whole different game on the other for multiplayer

 

It is possible, but not necessary, and yet with KH coming back to the consoles it is a real possibility that this path is taken, as almost all games add the feature "Multiplayer" only because they feel it should be... (Yes I am looking at you Tom Raider).
But I would like to have some KH game with Multiplayer capabilities so I could play with my friends afterwords... another thing that I would much apreciate is something that was abandoned in this genetarion that is "OFFLINE MULTIPLAYER" (CO-OP , and Vs). 99% of my games (minus the fighting games) are all "Single player" or "multiplayer only online" and that sucks, I bought a second controller and I want to use it, I have friends, I have a girlfriend (that don't like being left behind as I focus on a game).

And KH could pull it off! Just make it so the second and third controllers can control Donald or Goffy! I would be REAL cool. It would not take much from the first player , and if you are playing alone they could act with their AI like they do already! Doing Trinitys could be fun also, something like Player one Press O than player 2 has to press wathever follows if they got it right the trinity would connect!

 

No more command decks. They're going back to the original style. Which personally, I think is a lot better than the command deck. The command deck made everything too easy..

Anyways, if ANYTHING, I see them doing something like how Days was. Up to 3 or 4 people choose a person and just fight Bosses & Heartless, or whatever will be in the game. (I'm hoping we get all three Unversed, Heartless, and Nobodies.) I'm okay with that.. If they do anything else, I feel it will just be plain stupid on their part..

Forgot exactly. Sometimes I tend to go on a binge of Kingdom Hearts video watching.. whether that be news on an upcoming game, interviews or other various things. And I go on websites. Lmao. I don't remember where I heard it. What was said was something along the lines of when they go back to the console/numbered games, they were going back to the original style.

For the sake of the complete KH3 package as a whole, I hope not. KH is not a multiplayer-esque experience. Tomb Raider, Bioshock 2, Dead Space 2...these are all titles that have always had a special and definitive single player experience, and slipped up on the multiplayer. Not saying it cant be done (or wont), but especially with the long wait and high expectations for KH3, SE needs to stick to its guns, IMO. Not saying they shouldn't be innovative and try new things, but multiplayer is a different beast entirely.

 

Couldn't they have a hack to add a second character on the screen like the super Mario 64 hack?

 

Like others have said, if anything it would be like a mini-game. They might actually have a multiplayer platform for this game though. Maybe they'll make the initial release and follow up with multiplayer dlc. I'd rather see a top notch story plot though. If the main story sucks, there's no point in multiplayer.

In the end though, it's a matter of waiting. There's almost zero knowledge on KH3, other than the fact that it's in the making. Maybe they'll surprise us with this one.
