If I'm right, the reason the price of petrol is higher is because we get it from countries who are involved in the war right? Well is the lack of petrol better, I mean there would be less poultion in the air and more people will be walking to school and getting exercise Your thoughts?
Well yea if Petrol price is rising and people will walk more but then less ppl guys especially won't be able to hav cool cars n stuff maybe they should create a new source of fuel preferablly a renewable one
But what about people who go to buy groceries or something like that? You can't expect them to walk to the store and walk home carrying 10+ bags... Or what about people going to work? In a car, the commute may be an hour or more, imagine how much longer it would be while walking. By the time you would get there, you'd be too tired to do anything.
I agree. There would be no way that someone could carry multiple bags. Also there is oil in Alaska, but I believe the reason we are not going to get it is because of the animals there. And also I think they are trying to figure out another oil source, they just have not yet.
Lack of petrol, in itself doesn't bug me as anyone who's kept up with the times knows that sooner or later we are going to run out. Oil companies have to use all sorts of methods now to find oil whereas in the past it was a lot easier to locate and now drilling has had to also become a lot more specific to regions. Oil companies though are going to want to run us out of oil before they stop cashing in on it and don't adapt and don't seem to want us to either. There are all sorts of nasty ways oil companies keep us dumb and dependent on it. In a way, I will be happy when we are no longer ran by oil companies and am glad to see that bit by bit we are coming to have other means to get around such as hydrogen cars etc which will be better for the environment. Losing petrol cars would make it so that carbon dioxide levels drop considerably around the world too and help our environment from those melting ice caps and the Greenhouse Effect. In the long run, even if things cost a fortune now for alternative travel methods than petrol ran cars, it will also be cheaper. I just filled up my gas tank and it was 60 bucks and I'm not an owner of an SUV or some crap. It's simply ridiculous to be stuck like this with no alternatives. I do hope that people such as electric companies etc will go ahead and start learning to switch to alternative methods such as wind fans and solar power because we do need to lower the carbon dioxide and also it's cleaner energy. Unfortunately, I hear a lot of older people gripe about wind fans complaining about noise and they are 'unsightly' and all. They aren't helping the problem and they are supporting keeping petrol around as our major power source and I don't think wind fans are ugly at all. I plan when I get out of college to get some on my property when I get a house and neighbors that gripe about it can whine when they run out of petrol services in 20 years. BTW, great topic. I do agree it does make us do more physical activities too. 60 bucks for filling the car and also a larger than I want electric bill certainly do make me think of alternative methods of travel to preserve the gas more. I can't say it's been unhealthy to me at all. However, I am still dependent on that vehicle to do things as others mentioned, such as shopping for food. It's really the poor people to lower middle class that are stuck with less options as getting other methods of transportation is extremely costly in comparison. We also have the largest population so those methods need to come down in price so we could do the switch and all.
You're right about the exercise and the pollution, but some people need gas for cars because some people have kids that can't walk yet and you can't carry them the whole way. And some people go to schools or workplaces that are like 30 minutes or an hour away and they can't walk the way there. If there is no gas left, then most cars would not work(except for hybrids and cars like that), and if no one uses cars, then a lot of people would lose their jobs. And my history teacher told us that the reason we can't drill for oil in Alaska and Canada is because there are some tree huggers there and they would probably do anything to stop us from drilling.
I suggest that we should stop pollution like twenty times before. I really wanted to stop using gases and use something else that can be used without making pollution. WE must act!
